Great, Now Path of Exile is now invading MWO. Modules are Gems, and you level them manually. I really don't even care any more. Something new is something better.
I somehow have the feeling that the Game is not launched, but rather went from open beta to gamma. This is somehow Diablo 3 or LOL !!!
I'll be looking forward to buying my additional 2 Orion, Kintaro, Jager, Dragon, and Cataphract again  I like to master a set of mechs, then pick my favorite before moving to the next mech... also conserves the amount of money I have to dump into mechbays... lame! If they intend to do this, and it requires me to buy my mechs again, I expect some compensation other than getting my GXP back.
Why would selling have any effect? The system uses the overall Mech XP gathered over a lifetime. XP is retained even if you have sold a mech.
It would if pilot tree is reset and if (it's how it works now) you can't use XP on mechs you don't own: you won't be able to access elite and master trees if you don't own 3 variants.
If XP is retained, but the retained XP level might not be enough to equal the tier level equivalent of "Mastered" since the 2x basics from an elited mech will no longer be applied automatically, they will be earned from even higher tier levels. What if the XP on the mech was only enough to reach Elited, but not the new 2x basics tier level? And what if those levels are required for another variant to be "mastered"? IDK, we need more information about what this change is going to impact.
I'm pretty sure I am NOT going to start grinding levels. If MWO stops supporting casual players then I suppose they no longer want casual players' business.
um? Pretty sure the 2x multiplier to basic efficiencies is on the MECH TREE BUT you are correct that the reset portion is just modules (Pilot Tree). There are two issues here. The one I am concerned about is the level based feature on the MECH TREE. As in, a mech that is Elited might not grant the 2x bonus after this is implemented. Thus it needs to be taken farther. I'm just concerned with how this will effect the "3 mech" rule currently in the game...
I feel like, whether they're resetting just the Pilot trees, or the Mech trees and the Pilot trees... Nothing's gonna stay the same. Instead of having Cool Run, and Arm Reflex, and Anchor Turn, per every single different mech- What's gonna happen is there will be Module Slots for Mech efficiencies- and you'll be able to spend your Exp on a "Cool Running" module that can be slotted into any Mech... I'd say if they keep the Elite Basic and Master tiers that are required by getting multiple variants of the same mech- they're probably going to be to unlock more Module Slots- maybe of different types, maybe a fixed number or fixed types per chassis... Or they might bunk it up. Who knows. My money's on a complete overhaul of everything Exp related.
As long as they give me the refund of the GXP/XP I spend then it is ok, if not then it is time to raise hell and cause trouble and I may fainally give in then to the official forum to poison it even more.
We'll see on Feb 4 - Russ tweeted that Tier 1 Weapon Modules come out on Feb 4 along with the UI and who knows what else...
Hello Guys, I know alot of you have been playing since Moses was a Sperm, but I only started in closed beta. But, my thinking has always been that Players should have their Junk reset when the game goes live. all mechs all skills, all everything. When they allowed everyone to keep their Junk after Open beta into Live (lol Live) I had mixed Feelings, i was Whew i got to keep all my junk, but i also thought of those that did not play in Beta I have like almost all the mechs mastered - like 6 I checked last night (lol). the beginner learning curve was sharp enough and not the playing field was not leveled. At least with this Reset the Grognards still get to keep their precious XP. I do hope that we don't have to buy our 3 per mech just to level them up AGAIN.
Oh god, this is going to be hilarious in the worst possible way. UI 2.0 is less intuitive, less informative and wastes a tremendous amount of space compared to the current UI. It adds next to no functionality and removes many useful elements. I can't even imagine someone not intimately familiar with battle tech figuring it out. T- "everyone who doesn't like the new UI is on an island.". . . Good times ahead.
