I'm not even sure if I would spend $500 on an actual golden mech statue let alone one mech of digital bs content :X

    Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that bullshit.

If everything is supposed to be equal with the whole "Clan tech won't be coming in the same way it does in the lore because we want things to be balanced and fun for everyone" then why the fuck are you charging $240.00 for a mech package? Any why are you even offering GOLD SKIN MECHS for the Clan Fanbois (at $500.00 a pop you rip off artists) when we Inner Sphere fans get fucked in the ass?

This is nothing but a money grab.

Guess what MF'rs I just went and spent that $240.00 on Star Citizen. Whether that game succeeds or not you won't see another dime of my cash what so ever. You are incompetent in the most extreme and I pray that you never helm another beloved franchise this side of hell.

    Yes dollars! Crazy right?

I refuse to invest in a company which will be gone in 12 more months or, at the very least, struggling so badly that the money grabs will continue. When I play MWO it will be with what I have already purchased and not a fucking dime more. This is PGI's way of cashing out in case they sink within the next year they can still pay their salaries for a bit.

Yeah , all of that looks terrible...

Although, I am excited about the new Mechs

Also, I wonder what the "unique Modules" that the 2 top tier packages get are...( that was a weird sentence)...I'm sure it will cause some nerds to yell "Pay to Win" even though they wont be lol

$4240 USD for all the content? ... Moneygrabbing assholes. They only get away with it because people keep falling into it.

Decided to do some math out of curiosity:

Hero Mech Pricing Scheme: 75 MC per Ton

Mechs in Clan Collection with MC cost of "Hero" version that comes in package:

    Warhawk 6375 MC
    Timberwolf 5625 MC
    Stormcrow 4125 MC
    Adder 2625 MC
    Dire Wolf 7500 MC
    Summoner 5250 MC
    Nova 3750 MC
    Kit Fox 2250 MC
    -------------------
    Total: 37500 MC

    Add in the mechbays it comes with: 24 x 300 = 7200. 7200 + 37500 = 44700

    25,000 MC = $100
    250 MC = $1

    44700 / 250 = $178.80

Hmmm.... $61.20 left over which is the 16 regular variants, 90 days premium time, and frilly bullshit. I don't care about the frilly stuff. How much is premium time? I've never bought it by itself.

ROFL ... I guess Star Citizen's crowdfunding success must have gotten PGI's hopes way up... wayyyy, wayyyyyyyyy up!!!
But I have played MWO, the matchmaking, the ELO crap, the dull deathmatches.
I would be willing to pay for a better gaming experience, more objectives, less crappy nerfs like ghost heat and better thought out game mechanics to balance things (come on, world of tanks can balance shit, why can't mechwarriors ?) and actually give stuff like single heat sinks, small pulse lasers or command consoles a reason to exist.

I won't drop another dime to drive more mechs in the same-o, same-o setting, much less hundereds of dollars. Sorry PGI. It takes more than a few golden skins to make this game shine again.

This new Shitstorm is going to be massive. Yellowstone supervolcano massive.

3PV was one thing... but this involves actual money.

That is what the Clans called their invasion of the Inner Sphere.

Um, yeah, these sorts of comments drive me up a wall. How can anyone have any faith in Star Citizen when all that has been seen so far is a hangar you can walk around? If people feel so burned by other game developers, how can anyone be so confident that Star Citizen can deliver?

Anyway, overall the issue is one of timing, presentation and bundling.
    • Timing: We haven't had any major new features added to the game in quite some time.
    • Presentation: We know diddly about how the Clan invasion is going to work, but we've got some great info on how much money we can pay to play the mechs!
    • Bundling: We are forced into certain tiers if we want to get certain mechs. If we had more options, buying the 2, 4, or 6 variants of our choice, people would be less upset.
Personally, I feel that while PGI has made a ridiculously fun game that I love, they have always come up short in their community interactions.

The "junior member" would suggest you haven't been playing MWO for a long time, so from that perspective: "yeah, it's a lot of fun driving mechs around and shoot things up. But when you've done that for a couple of months, it pales, and if there's still nothing else to do but drive mechs around and shoot things up and THEN they come up with nothing but new mechs to drive around and shoot things up in the same way as before - that's when you get a shitstorm.

As for your question "how can you have faith in star citizen" the answer is simple: The man already delivered great games. Multiple times. They were groundbraking at the time. And now having him make another game without interference from publishers like deadlines to meet (out on christmas, ready or not, that kind of thing) it has every promise of becoming a great game.
Whereas Piranha Games has a history of rather mediocre games - they're ok, but they often fell short of expectations.

So if I'm asked to cough up 200 or 500 Dollars for either PGI or for CIG, I'll take CIG and Star Citizen. CIG is trying to meet the fan's expectation. PGI already displayed a willingness to either ignore fan input, or to pay heed to the loudest whiners instead of taking things with a grain of salt.

If everything becomes great that's fine, another good game for me to play (and considering the Phoenix package, the Hero mechs and the mech bays I already bought I supported them a good deal). But right now this isn't something for longterm fun, so I won't pre-order more mechs for the same game. If they get faction warfare done right, maybe.

First; i appreciate new content...its surely fun hunting all those Mechs over the same old maps again.

I broke at Phoenix + Reinforcement, didnt want to, but got it.... but there, i still hoped for UI2.0, Community Warfare (hey my Phoenix Mechs have still an UNUSED Loyality point bonus)... but i see myself playing less and less and most of the 90 days Premium time of the Overload pack runs wasted.. cause this game has not evolved much, rather than "buy more Mechs with RL money".

But it gets stale and boring to fight just, what is essentially a deathmatch, with low reward unless premium time is brought... and now, even before the Saber reinforcemet gets even delivered, even before the stuff mentioned in the original Kickstarter is delivered...the next pack even more outrageously priced comes out.. for what? For the same 12v12 on the same maps + Moonbase? Maybe we even have Base-defending turrets till then.. woohoo! And even WHY? I have Trebuchet & Catapult mastered, what do i do with as mastered Mech.. there not even a point to play pug with a mastered Mech.

I WONT BUY a clan mech pack without seeing:

    -UI 2.0

-Community Warfare detailed & explained, and worth playing.

-How clan mechs / players get in the game and interact with it, cause i dont want to see them fight together with normal IS mechs. (wich i guess, will happen... considering they have 3 Variants each).

-They get their prices moderated (20$ tier -> 30$ tier, Golden Mechs (way to fuck up immersion, there are no gold-plated mechs in the BT Universe... its a damn war machine)... and allow us to pick the mechs (why take some i am not interested in just to get, say a Heavy? or in my case, a Ryoken?)

If i had 200+$ i would rather crowdfound another game or put more money to Star Citizen (who got allready 500$+, i deem spent wisely), but to drop more in a game that became stale and boring, and dangerously close to a cashgrab, without delivering promises made, no.

The prices are high. Very very high, but with some decent kickers like variants and modules. What chafes my ass though is not being able to pick the mech I want. I don't want to own every single clan mech just because I want a Masakari or Mad Cat. I certainly don't want a 'Gold Plated' mech. They want a 'Khan' mech give it a distinct clan paint job.

Horribly implemented MWO. I'm glad I got a refund in my Phoenix pack.

I'll still play occasionally, when I don't have a better game to play, or better real life things to do. Which doesn't happen often much anymore....
