http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=5002 $4240 to obtain ALL of the objects in this new sale. Your Opinions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=iBLSv6acVE4 EVERY FACEPALM EVER.
It would seem some predictions on this forum were correct... the Clan Package was on it's way and it IS insanely expensive. Holy crap.
This is getting pretty pricey for a FTP game.... I mean of course I'm gonna get the $240 dollar package. But the $500 PER MECH for those Gold Skinned ones seems obnoxious.... or is that just me...?
WTF were they thinking with these $500 gold clan mechs? I'm sure they will sell some but what the hell? They get an extra module slot? The Pay To Win whiners will have a field day with this.
But... it's JUST $30 per hero mech plus 2 free standard mechs of each hero mech you buy plus a lot of less important crap. If you've bought anything in MWO before (and didn't cry in a corner like an abused child) the price points are good (ignoring the $500 "gold" mechs). What I want to know is: when is this motherfucking sale going to end. I'm not paying $240 in one go but I might set aside $2 a day for 120 days...
Jenner F(C) was a good deal for me... but that's mostly because it was the mech I was running in beta before the wipe and I didn't feel like grinding my way back up from dirt when I returned to the game (plus the untouched MC from my founder's package was calling my name).
Mark me down for fuck off PGI. Also, three options? Get a grip dude. Only 1 option per member so that we can see how people REALLY feel.
well 3 options: Fuck off PGI (logical) Not spernding money right now Later, IF this is still around at the time UI2.0 is finally here and the other stuff they promised, I'll probably still be persuaded and spend $240 (gold mechs can still die in a firey place with people that wipe their ass with money)
Mark me down for Fuck Off PGI I haven't been playing a whole lot for the last couple of weeks and now I see my play time reduced even more. I'm a fan of the clan tech and the clan way of life but not at this price. WTF?!?! Double the price of a Phoenix Pack for 2 mechs? FAWK THAT NOISE!
I think a lot of people will fall into this category. I was happy with my Overlord + Saber purchase. I'll probably go as high as I can with the clan mechs too. But with the way I function I'll probably buy in chunks over a long time. Christmas might change things as I typically am given a fair bit of cold hard cash. But the Steam Winter Sale is coming and games now is better than mechs later right? I just wish PGI would give us an idea, not matter how rough, of when these sales are set to end. When they yelled last call on the phoenix pack it caught me off guard because I assumed it would last through Christmas. I guess now we know why it didn't.
Hmm.. $240 in a game, or 60% of the way to this: http://www.myflukestore.com/p1393/fluke_87-v.php I know which one will last for 20+ years and be useful, and it's not the mechs.
Just to toss this out there... Saber was $110 for 6 chassis. Clan is $240 for 8 chassis. FUCK OFF PGI I only needed one option.
Compared to the Phoenix package these are pretty terrible prices. For $80 you got 4 hero mechs, 8 standard mechs, and 90 days of premium time. Here you need to pay $120 for a similar package, and you get only 60 days of premium time. I guess one question is whether these will be actual omnimechs or if they will have set hardpoints like the current mechs.
Just purchased four of these as the cheapest expenditure for my last Purch Req at work. Along with four Weller WX2 stations with WXMP/MT tweezer and pencil irons, Global ESD Workstations, Fluke 87s, Fluke IR Temps, Fluke FLIR, Fluke Inspection cams, Agilent Freq Gens, AE Amps, Rigol Spec Analyzer... Lots of fun. It's a blast to have someone else's money to build an EMC Test lab...
