That which uses SRM6 shalt also use the Artemis IV!

Otherwise I prefer to get the more ton-efficient LRM15s and downgrade to SRM4s which have a nice spread of their own. I put the LRMs on the arms because of the missile tubes and at times in matches where you lose your arms you're bound to be more often in SRM range than LRM range, especially when running a slow assault mech!

this is for those of us who don't own swimming pools full of c-bills. hence "Cheapskate"

    (i only have 100,000 C-Bills as i write this!!!)

also i got the title right. srm6 does 12DMG LRM10 does 11 and std340 does NO DAMAGE :p

Artemis IV isn't really expensive neither is Endo-Steel :p it's the mandatory DHS that will screw you over.

Of these builds, I like enileph and SubjectSeven's builds the best. (Well, S7's second build. I flat-out refuse to run Artemis anymore as I hate the mechlab mechanics for it.)

this build should be called the Poor Man's Hammer as it uses the Stock Engine and a cheap but underpowered weaponloadout. My version with 1000+ LRMs:

the Rich Man's Hammer would be somehow like this:

    or:

    or:

but still runs very hot.. :(

33% isn't so bad if you chain-fire the MLases (like I do on the Verb's LRMageddon), and take into consideration that you won't be firing the SRMs and LRMs at the same time.

I'm still of mixed feelings about this build. 2xSRM4~6 and 3~4xMLas really isn't enough firepower for self defense, and the overlap range for an alphastrike is extremely narrow. I like the versatility, but--on the other hand--this game frequently punishes any build that isn't optimized for a narrow role.

I could see two of these guys running side-by-side cleaning house, though.

33% is not so bad, but also not so good. 15+ heatsinks and this build works like charm. I find the defense power fair, if you compare it to Catapults or similar LRM30-Mechs. Maybe it is an option to run Streaks instead SRMs and load in an LLas for additional Long-Mid Range Firepower. What do you think?

    con: overload in weapongroups!

    suggestion: 1. LLas, 2. LRMs, 3. MLas+Streaks (combined), 4. Tag

I am running a build like the last poster suggested (2XLRm15 in arms, 2XSSRM2 LT, 4XMLAS) and if you get a map where you can hang back and just LRM boat until those run dry you can chase off lights with the MLAS and SSRM2s until late game where you only have SSRM2s and your MLAS and clean up a good bit. You just have to be used to only being a brawler at that point. I do have DHS and Endo as well, so that helps. I am not certain that Smurfy is calculating the heat correctly though as in game it states 1.26 (edited for heat info) BLR-1S
