Falconium got it pretty much right!
How did I do it? It's like they're just catering to my every wish! No, not hardly. But still, I am very (and I do mean VERY) pleased with the hardpoint layout on this thing, even the addition of the extra Energy Hardpoint in the CT, which I didn't ask for, but which is sweet all the same! I am SOOO going to buy this thing, no doubt about it --- now I just have to decide whether I can stand being patient long enough to wait for it to go on sale. Probably not . . . how can I hold myself back from this!
Only thing that I would want on the arrow is a bigger max engine. 255 maybe? Oh, we might still get our missile spider yet?
I know we're likely looking at a year or so before we see this, but my prediction for one of the first Clan Heroes? Dire Wolf "Widowmaker" Like this, only move the ER Mediums from the right arm to the CT, and the ER Small from the left arm to the head. With appropriate hard points to match. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=171&l=ed2f3f19ad2d5344082e66ec6d0481625fa9254f Oh, yeah... and a fucking cool black and red camo specs, with a giant black widow silhouette in red on the top.
Does anyone have information on how clan hero mechs will work? IS heros give a different set of hardpoints, but it makes no sense for a clan mech on which you can change the omnipods.
Unique CT? Maybe some pods that can't fit to normal Omnimechs? Maybe quirk bonuses? Their own warhorns?
Hmmm other weapon hardpoints for clan heroes wouldn't realy work so maybe change of the engine and upgrades, like a troll nova with a xl360 and ff. To round this up maybe other ct weapon hardpoints or a jj (or non) in it.
The capacity to mount jump jets and better quirks.... Loads of well known Clan pilots to pick from including dual gauss setups (Vlad).
You just need to have the quirk +2 JJ on it to allow JJ on the Hero. Some parts already have that ability, but yeah, keeping it on the CT of the hero would do wonders. That having said, I think the Clan heros are going to be just like other heros, with fixed pods that cannot be changed. The difference is that they use clan weapons.
Even theoricrafting it seems inferior to the -5D http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=ec5776be2a1cfd6d9d1567010df95fd69e7e3c52
I don't know about that...made these two builds right away: SRM 6 and more ammo http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=ac9615344e7fd7df2ed56001a4ae33cdd786f8b9 SRM 4 but top speed of 160 after speed tweak http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=5bb62ae36eb21181d0e67017abf6064874d20e7c Granted, those were without maxing out the armor, but I was looking more at potential weapon loadouts. The Anansi, in my eyes, fills a role much like the JR7-D does, by changing up the "norm" for the chassis by adding new hardpoints. You could also make it into a nasty support light like this: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=78daf8b9fef41fd022158008342b9c381e993b87 If I pick it up, that would probably be my setup...an extremely fast moving NARCer designed to guide my team towards targets, mark flankers, and hit them hard with LRMs. I've noticed that 1JJ setups on IS lights still work fairly well if you just use them to jump small gaps, or traverse hills on maps like Canyon or HPG Manifold. At max speed with Tweak on, this mech can also tear through maps like Frozen City/River City, and Radar Derp definitely makes it better, since you'll lose track of it very quickly. Without Seismic Scanner, it will be a great strike fighter...honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing these bad boys play. Edit: Derp, didn't notice the last build only had 9 heat sinks Fixed it. Also put in the 245 engine, which is the same weight for more speed.
The Raven-3L currently fill all those roles, with more weight to spend in equipt, ECM, and more armour. The only advantage of the mech is arm mounted weapons, that have more mobility, and double AMS... AT ALL worth an ECM Also, to be honest again, this same dmg role is better filled with the SDR-5K, that is way more straight forward than this hero. I doub that more than 10% of the ppl that ever bought the mech still keep it, going a lot up (real number must be 4%collectors, 1%ppl that really love the -5K), cause the comparision with the -5D is horrible. Same goes for this.
This Anansi Hero is not bad. It's better than the 5V (ok not too difficult) and somehow a Mix of the 5D and the 5K. I would run it with Wub, Crit and Splash like this (reusing the Stockengine of the JM6-DD): http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=4441c5686c0468280d41b704c0993ac8674df4f4 At close range it has a strong punch compared to the other Spiders.
NARC in CT, 2xMGs, 2xMLasers and XL255? A Jenner might be able to NARC better though. Overall, a good Hero, better than the new Battlemaster one and a lot better than Huginn. Lack of a shield arm is slightly disturbing. Could also be used as an AMS shield, not using the Missile tube in CT at all.
the vindicator is coming: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Vindicator 45tons, JJs and the 4L has ECM (though its a version from 3060). Looks a bit like a BJ with missile hardpoints...
