I understand what you mean, but I'm still thinking a Spider with all weapons mounted on torso is stupid. Maybe I'm saying this because I tend to overuse the jumpjets and heavily rely on them: when you're jumping you can't use torso weapons (especially MGs) if you can only orient them by 20°. (that's one of the reasons why I still prefer the Jenner 100 times over the Firestarter)
I would like to see the SLDF GRF-2N "Royal" Griffin rolled out as a hero mech. In cannon, the Royal variant of the Griffon had an ERPPC, 2xSRM-6 (LT/RT), ECM, DHS, Endo, FF, and Case. In addition to being a SLDF "Royal" variant, the chassis has a bit of history with Lyran royalty: Slap a Lyran Royal Guards paint scheme on a slightly modified griffon model (bigger sniper-rifle arm?) and voila! http://tinyurl.com/lz38xoo (image is to large for the page) The mech itself could be based of the 1N, but have 1E and 1M slot removed in return for the ECM, an extra AMS, better stats (hard to do on the excellent griffon chassis), and/or other goodies. It would also look really cool to have missile pods on either shoulder and would allow for XL engine missile boats.
I like the JJ too, Jumping over Atlas is so fun. Oh, and Jenner is better in a few ways, 2xSRM4 for example. But if you want only 6x MLas then even FS9 have a variant with that on the arms. The Jenner is faster, with lower profile, and more DHS on that build though.
Like the idea but they were plain old Griffins not the SLDF version weren't they? And a 55 tonner with ECM and jump jets... mmh.
Ack, looks like my wording was off. Yes, they were "Normal" Griffons as far as I know. To balance the jumping ECM griffon, you could nerf the hardpoints to 2e, 2m(15/15 ports) . While this does limit flexibility, it makes up for it with a more impressive base chassis. If you really want lulz, add a second AMS slot to the mech. Low(er) firepower but a great bodyguard (hence royal ). Its hard to find something new for the 55 tonner slot, with so many mechs and variants floating around. I would like to see a Grayson Death Carlyle Shadowhawk (go figure right?) but I never saw anything to suggest his mech was unique and I do not have the old GDL books to confirm.
More like definitely p2w unless there is already an ECM version of the same chassis maybe. So, next up is BJ then? I am hoping of a Jager A or DD type hardpoint with loads of JJ and maybe double AMS. Failing that give me exact hardpoints of IV-4, or Hunchback-4sp, or locus 3S or oxide. Hack, even huggies Raven would be good. Though I would rather get the spider first... hmmm... missile spider.
Missile spider! Yay! I can just see myself now, flying over enemy mechs with my JJs, and firing down SRMs from my (hopefully/has to be) arm mounted missile hardpoints. Never was good at deciding on what hard points should be, but I think an asymmetrical one would be cool, like missiles on one arm, and energy the other? Or maybe in the torsos. Has to have JJs (It's a spider for heaven's sake), but max speed will be up in the air. Probably run the 255 engine, so max at 150, instead of the 169 speed of the non ecm ones.
Not big on asym hardpoints, but a catapult C4 type hardpoint would be great. The CT energy is a keeper I guess.
After we got the Loop de Gerr, i don`t think we get a Missile.Jack. My bet is on a Critical Desaster.Jack now. 6B 2E or 4B 4E... maybe yeah maybe we get a crappy mix of some B and M. But God save us from that! It would be a bigger Huggin`
Nah, Blackjack's don't need Missiles! I think 3xMG in each arm and 1xLPL in each torso would do just fine. Something like this (swap the MLasers for 4 more MGs): http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=77&l=9a6099ffa7c7a2bf058f8bb04499f02bfc0f3c76 It's a miniature Jagger-DD, with Jump-Jets!
It's worse than we feared... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ4y8NPEonI But, it can do the zombie now...
