Was looking at the parts I have and how I might use this item. The goal is to get into melee with your opponent.

You are not going to be killing a lot with this build. Just sayin.

You say that, but I seem to have no problem using, this evening.

I will have to wait til Friday to see it on the Jester. I had a pretty easy time shutting down my opponents and picking them apart with my LPLs. Anyone that runs hot will quickly collapse.

People who run hot also know how to run their mech when being flamed. Trust me.

Honestly this depends on the ELO. Lower levels people tend to panic when then see fire and start spraying everywhere until they shutdown. It's a viable tactic that nets you kills then gets your ELO elevated to where it no longer works. I gave up on Flamers a while ago.

What I am generally discovering is people try to back away or dodge flame at my Elo. This gives me a chance to punch them a few times with the LPLs. And they run hot almost all the time.

For me I run 1-2 kills per match and 200-400 damage. For me, that is good on the heavy side. The only mech, I do better on is the commando-2d. Which, I range from 300-600 damage.

o_O I'm really shocked by what you said. Everything sub400 on Heavies is bad for ME. You must exercise more :p

After playing around with the K2 variant that I showed above I will probably be modifying this build to:

What I discovered is that if no one is moving forward, you can dodge in and out firing off the Large Pulse Lasers as a pair without seriously running up your heat. When someone comes in close firing both the flamer and the auxiliary weapons works perfectly for causing mechs to back off or blind them. If they are running hot it will shut them down. If you toss in every other shot at that point as the Large Pulse Lasers you take down your opponents fairly quickly.

The only opponents, I had difficulty with were pure ballistic AC20 users. They rip apart mechs in close combat and should be avoided.

My highest match in the K2 variant last night was 670.

If you are a brawler that goes mostly for CT (or Sides on XL) then around 400ish is what you are going to get. But your kills and assists would be better though, 2-3 is basic.

That having said, Flamers are a 0-1 thing, mostly 0 though. :)

Well, have now played 21 matches in the Jester with this build. I am sitting at:

    Matches: 21
    Wins: 12
    Losses: 9
    W/L Ratio: 1.33
    Kills: 17
    Deaths: 14
    K/D Ratio: 1.21
    Damage: 5,226

So, an average of 248.85 dpm. I have had some matches I run in the 500s and others that I die really early in the match. Alot of that has to do with playing an aggressive brawler. I just simply tangle with the wrong person. I am not sure putting a larger engine by the way would be good for me. I have died a few times by being the first one down range.
