Obviously, I've not played this yet (patch isn't available) but as soon as I saw the patch notes I wanted to try this loadout. (updated based on a suggested build below)
I thought about that and honestly, I've been playing a K2 PPC build in prep for the Jester and my AMS ammo is almost always > 75% full at the end of a match. More speed is good, but not sure this build needs it. Once I get a Jester, I'll start playing around and we'll see
sacrifice AMS for Speed @93kph with the XL340 (e.g. from the Pretty Baby) Or drop Armor for this beauty:
Considering I use the very same build on my Firebrand... Just had to make a few adjustments to armor to fit the AMS. For those who have the XL340 or 330 lying around from previous Hero mechs and doesn't want to spend more.
A basic support variant. Twin PPCs pack a long range punch, while a quartet of MLas bring the same amount of fire-power at close range. Dual AMS, Jump Jets and a Standard Engine provide a measure of survivability.
CPLT side torsos are notoriously difficult to hit, so the CT takes an unfair amount of the incoming damage. You may as well use that to your advantage and sport a XL. Also, CPLT heads are easy targets, so you basically never want to sacrifice armor from the head. My recommendation:
Modified the build to have a xl 350, goes like it has a fire under its bottom. Don't feel like I ever need the ams since walls and giants rocks do a better job
try this, elite it, and dance baby dance, fight like the fluff, jump and shoot man jump and scoot. http://mwomercs.com/news/2013/11/753-catapult-hero-jester read up on your books and you will succeed http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/13...euvers-manual/page__pid__2809346#entry2809346 Spoiler http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/108106-a-brief-introduction-to-playing-a-light-mech/ 1) You are NOT a brawler. Do not take on enemies from the front unless you have absolutely no other choice, and get out from in front of them as soon as you can, jumpjets. 2) Your legs are your life. Yes, you are squishy compared to other mechs, but you move faster. Take away your speed, and your just something that is fun to kick, jumpjets. 3) There is no such thing as "cheap" tactics. Do what it takes to help jumpjets jumpjets jumpjets . 4) Be especially cautious about engaging any enemy by yourself. This doesn't mean don't do it, but [jumpjets] consider the [jumpjets] situation and your possible escape [jumpjets] avenues before you [jumpjet] run in. 5) Just because you are in a light fast mech does not mean you should fight other light mechs. Some light mechs will not do well against other light mechs, especially if they are built with scouting or harassing in mind. If you want a light killer, there are plenty of guides out there, and everyone on your team will love having you around, but that is not the only use for a light. 6) You are not always the scout. Scout builds are also a rather specific thing, and most do incorporate ECM. Lights are not default scouts, however, and many are built as quick strikers, flankers, light killers, and assault killers (Yes, lights can be one of the best assault mech killers in the game).
