Yesterday I finally grinded the remaining XP to 3x Elite, which permitted me to unlock Master on my Heavy Metal right away. And the next thing I did was to sell the 732. A huge target that doesn't do anything better than a heavy Mech. I'll probably end up selling the 733 as well, although I'm somewhat pleased with it, and only keep the HM. I feel that the Gauss and Jumpjet nerfs pretty much took that Mech's raison d'être away. It's not that it's bad. It's just that other Assaults are as well or better. And I got 3 more assaults from the Phoenix package - no reason to keep a mech I probably won't be playing anymore. So here's to you, Highlander:
Costed me 15m, couldn't wait to sell it for 2m after I got it elited out. Even despite the fact, HGN makes a pretty bad platform for this kinda setup, it still is the mech with the highest W/L in my bay (1.40). But still, LRM BOATING IS TEH BORE!
Indeed, but for missile boating I can use the Battlemaster just as well: http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=4400.0 Same firepower, more speed, or as I said "it's not that (the Highlander) is bad, it's just that other Assaults are as good or better".
Was my first intention, but I wanted TAG for myself and it has only 2 NRG slots, leaving yourself rather helpless in PUG games if lights decide to swarm you. Just did it really to have something that plays completely different while letting me master my C and HM. Still falling asleep just by the thought of it. Brrrr! [/quote] Try the 733C bro, it's the very best mech the current meta can offer.
I have kept the 733C for Double UAC5 build. I had the 732 as PPC.Sniper, the 733 as Missile Boat, the 733P as Laserboat. At least the Variants can be played in more versatile ways than the Atlas. Sure the Victor is more agile with similar ballistic+energy options and the new Battlemaster can do a better Laser / Missile Boat, but if i want 90 tons (incl.JJs) the Highlander is the only choice right now.
Until weight gives me the option to push those annoying twerps out of the way who overtake me then stop dead in their tracks right in front of me to admire the wide open world before them, I don't care about 5 or 10 tons more or less
With a paintjob like that I'd expect you to be primary target, and god knows how much of it is friendly fire
missile boating doesnt feel real for the HGN, thats rather something for an AWS or BLR HGN's have so many different models and setups which are a lot of fun to play i just wish this beast was a tiny bit faster, just like 3-5 kph more
