1 star cause it doesn't let me vote zero... 2 LRM20s firing out of 2 10 missle slots equals fail... no back up weapons equals Epic Fail!!!! maybe something like this... TDR-9SE
2 LRM10s don't really have much throughput and leaves you out in the open for too long. With two LRM 20s you can get some decent throughput. As for backup weapons in my experience an extra 2 ML doesn't do much, even against lights. Also the purpose of this post is to get discussion, not ratings so commenting on how you voted and calling it "epic fail" doesn't really count as discussion and is really just immature.
I would run it either like this: or: the main Problem of the OP build is the Lack of any secondary Weapons and the low Speed.
Just run an XL engine, and your Brawling potential goes WAY up. You do have to use a 2LRM15, but at least your not a French Duck Mech.
I'm not too fond of brawling with an xl with a frame and build potential like that. I'd like to have a jj and a BAP, but then again I'd also like a long tom so there.
Well, your original post was basically "Here's a mech I threw together. Discuss." which doesn't really start a discussion, and instead relies on others to determine what to do with this thing. You need to be the one to state why you went with your design decisions and what role you think this mech would fill. Anyways, you want some discussion. First of all, it mounts 2 LRM20s, but only has 20 missile tubes, which severely hampers your throughput anyways, though truthfully this doesn't bother me much, but it certainly isn't optimal. Secondly, without any backup weapons, you need to be able to stay out of the the LRM's min range from the enemies, though with a max speed of 68 kph, you're slower than most heavies, and equal to most assaults, sio you're pretty much toast as soon as someone decides to close with you. Catapults mounting only LRMs can get away with it a bit better since they usually equip an XL300 which allows them to keep at range. Finally, why do you mount 4 JJ? On this build it seems overkill, though you don't mention anything in your original post as to why you chose this so we're left to question why they are necessary. I would say 1 or 2 is more than enough to be able to peek over hills and acquire targets. Personally, I would drop 3 JJ, and replace them with medium lasers. I would also lose the Case and throw a little more armor into the legs since you should be able to deploy 2 tons of ammo before anyone can core your Right Torso. If you find that you are losing your torso fairly often before deploying those 2 tons, then there is something fundamentally wrong your build.
