As I already said in another thread this is a HGN setup I designed for a teammate of mine who took a hiatus from the game and returned about four weeks ago. The build is primarly focused on long and mid range engagements using the LLs and the LRM 20, but with strong finishing capabilities close up when using the quasi-double shotguns (arm-mounted LBX-10 and SRM-6). The mech doesn't fulfill a special role, but it's a rather well-rounded build which can be used in a very flexible way and which is potent at nearly all ranges. In addition to this the mech is pretty agile considering it's weight, carrying the biggest possible engine and mounting 2 JJs as well. The heat generated should be very managable as the mech won't be firing LRM-20 and SRM-6 together. Speaking of which, the comination of SRM-6 and LBX-10 proved to be very potent against circling lights. Bonus section: this build is transferable to other HGNs as well (for those who like this - I usually rather like to build for a variant's distinctiveness).
I guess you could always mount an AC10 instead of the LBX - give yourself a nice pinpoint option. Just drop a bit of ammo or a JJ maybe. I don't know if I'd be too worried though, it has enough firepower to open some holes. And then the LBX can go to work...
I'd drop the AMS and half a ton of armor and add another ton of SRM ammo: This should be a viable variant as well working on the same principles. I'd still prefer the original version, though. Although I have to admit that the original build obviously works best when teamed up with some mates. On the other hand - which build doesn't?
