http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=119&l=ca7e9ccb6047415c96f8a672d91b24b894de5072 Hello everyone, lurked the forums for a bit and finally decided to post. This is a mech that was worked on this weekend between a friend of mine and myself. We've both found this Battlemaster build to be particularly effective at all ranges due to the mix of AC5s and AC2s. Despite the rather generous ammo stores this beast carries around, it will still chew up all of your dakka in short order. Due to this, I highly recommend you save your shots until you are sure you have a good and proper bead on your target. Once said bead is acquired, however, press the trigger and don't let go till you are near overheating! Ensure that you protect your left arm. I had to place a single ton of AC ammo in there due to running out of slots. I found it better to put it in the left arm with the ACs as you can then dedicate your right arm to acting as a shield for the rest of your mech. Finally, feel free to change the armor distribution to taste as it is currently set to my style of play. Thanks, and happy hunting!
I run this same build and it works very well. It is very vulnerable to losing the arm however, so you have to be sure to protect it well.
The left arm has become more of primary target than the CT on the -1D and -1G. For this reason I try to unload all of my ammo as quickly as possible, but you're right about making sure to pick your shots. It can be a frustrating situation if you don't have good targets before the arm goes bye-bye. Luckily your build has 4 MLas as backup which keeps you in the fight. Not 100% yet, but I am considering exchanging 1 ton of AC5 for 1 ton of AC2. I tend to run out of AC2 very quickly. If I do that, and only fire them together, they should both run out of ammo around the same time. 60 rounds of AC5 will take 90sec to burn off from continuous fire. 375 rounds of AC2 will take ~93sec to burn of from continuous fire. Like I said, not sure which will work better. I'll come back with my findings after a baker's dozen drops
BLR-1D I shuffled your ammo placement around so it will pull the AC5 ammo in your arm first... H>CT>RT>LT>RA>LA>RL>LL is the pull order...
