This monster snipes with it's shoulder mounted PPCs until things are heating up. The arm-mounted weapons are perfect for mid- and close-range engagements and even for hitting much faster enemies.

PPCs and LL are here for melting away armor from a distance. Afterwards the ballistics are used for crit-seeking and finishing opponents. The heat efficiency is actually even better than shown in the lab. This is based on the nature of the weapons used. The PPCs and the LL are usually used in conjunction, while close up the LL and the LBX & MGs take over.

Although you can work with four different weapon groups here you don't necessarily nee to do so as you can just group the LBX with the MGs together. Firing some MG rounds while using the LBX midrange doesn't really hurt, and the LBX obv. wants to hit those sections you are targeting with the MGs close up anyway.

Therefore weapon groups can look like this:
    1: PPCs
    2: LL
    3: LBX & MGs

Monster is the right word. This thing feels downright unfair... I really did not think this would be the winner but after a few matches I am really enjoying this thing and I'm still not even done basics.

I added endo-steel and was able to fit a XL350, AMS and a bit more armor.

    Definite 5 star build

This is still my personal favorite for this variant, allthough I occasionally use the Spearhead variant as well.

I am not sure about keeping the 1D, though, as I am using my VTR-9B for heavy dakka purposes and I love VTRs so much more than BLRs.

I kind of ported this build to the G variant, but made some adjustment to the build while doing so. This altered version still works on the same principles, though.

A single MG doesn't look that impressive, though, so I went a step further. This version mounts a LPL in the right arm and adds a SRM6 as well. Heat management becomes more difficult this way and the sustained DPS is worse, but the alpha strike is pretty deadly.

Another possible step would have been to add additional MLas to the side torsos. I somehow prefer the build mounting LPLas and SRM6, though.

I've been using this build for quite a while now, it seemed kinda stupid at first but then when I started using it in game it just clicked for me. It is the best build for 1D if you ask me so 5/5
