that the 3M has 5 energy hard points and 2 AMS's so if that helps you guys get started on builds, just thought i would throw it out there
/cynism on Getting welded to the back of an random Atlas as rear-armor with double AMS & superdrive included. /cynism off As long as the matchmaking is like it is atm, [insert bitching about matchmaking] I´m really looking forward to the Locus, but i know, it will be painful.
Another idea: Run around your team like a wiener dog with 2 AMS and full armor to provide mobile LRM-shielding and catch friendly fire wthat would otherwise hit the important mechs. Maybe theres enough tonnage left for a flamer hear:
Something useful: I call it "Forrest Gump" (run, Forrest!!) : http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=50000&l=0be2e8114c3221ecc18a9fa8c6c65f3c461cdcde 7 tons left for: - 2 tons for the engine-upgrade to XL190 (if we get ~170 kph : yay!) - 5 tons for 5 x MLas 20 kph faster than a Jenner-F and one MLas less with 25 Alpha. Ok, dont speak of the JJs and the Armor. That makes me start smiling at least
I for one would love shutting down the LRM boat by running over, shooting down 14+ of every missile salvo and going "MEEP MEEP!" followed by 5 SLAS tickling to death... Did we ever ascertain if SSRM's were hit by AMS? If so, there you go. Who needs ECM vs Streaks? AMSx2.
Sorry but Cy's Locust build was removed as you technically can't build it yet. I am going to be preventing people from running around submitting every build in the universe without ever having sat in one.
I have been doing that ever since they announced what versions were coming out and what engine sizes. I have had to resist the urge to post a couple of builds. Tomorrow!!! Tomorrow will be the day.
Well, the Short range of streaks mean that most of the time your AMS will NOT help you much, unless someone is streaking you from 300m or so. Most streak specialist mech are quite fast, being able to get relatiely close, close enough to let the streaks do most of their work without being intercepted. And judging from what we know about the armor of this mech, you are still dead within 3-4 volleys even if you have double AMS.
well you dont have to make it go 170 if you dont want to. you could have on that goes 140 or whatever and 2 AMS's, i guess? tbh i find the Locust and the Flea both to be pretty much pointless. the only people running them are going to be doing so as dedicated scouts or as a joke. 2 AMS's fit either of those roles
