This is my first post to Mech Specs and I am sure this build has been done. I use this build with great effect and have a pretty good KDR with it, last I checked it was 1.67, so I am pretty happy with it. It does run a bit hot so I keep my LLas on chain-fire to help manage the heat.
One of the better brawling builds I've ever seen. Enough ammo to make the AC/20 worthwhile, Artemis SRMs are great all-purpose weapons, and LLas are quite possibly the best cost-effective energy weapons in the game right now. However, I would drop a DHS for another ton of SRM ammo-you only get 15 volleys right now, and it won't hurt your cooling efficiency enough for it to be a problem, as long as you don't overuse the LLas
I'd been running the 'CQC' build, but a STD300 D-DC is slow to the point of being a liability. Not only would just about anything be able to run circles around me or track me down, it took forever to close range and get my SRM6+A's and MLas in range. Devastating if you could trick your enemy into getting that close, but rather ineffective otherwise. Theme: STD325 D-DC with ERLLas arms for ranged fighting and AC20+SRM for CQC. Flaws: A bit low on ammo and cooling, but by sticking to ERLLas at long range and AC/SRM for CQC, it should last long enough for a 12v12. 2 ERLLas isn't too shabby weaponry to be left with.
I don't think SRM4 requires +A, the grouping is good enough. I actually prefer the shotgun effect of SRM6 in this case, as it helps on hitting smaller mechs. This is my setup. LLas or ERLLas depends on mood.
+1 to enileph's version. I wish I could get art on the SRMs, but I find the reach of the LL/ERLL is worth it over running MLs with the art.
