I haven't been this slow in a long time... Careful management of heat is required, but if you do Alpha, even in basic skills, you shouldn't heat up too poorly. Good Pinpoint Damage, good harassment against lights, I'm liking it so far!
Very similar to my "Serious Variant" below, just with a slightly larger engine. My concern with the way this looks is that armor count and the ammo count. I'm personally pretty free with my AC/20 and prefer to have a big fat stack of ammo to just let shells fly constantly. With 12 targets around to shoot, I'm afraid 21 shots would run dry too quickly.
In most of game you can finish with 2 PPC and 4 MLaser. Dont take to much ammo you will never have the time to fire all ammo.
This is how I run my Boar's Head. Don't let the numbers fool you either becuase it may look like it runs uncontrollably hot but it is really pretty good about not overheating, especially if you have it elited. Hits hard at almost every range except for really long and I have taken down more then one Direwhale head to head with this thing.
Dual-PPC/AC20 combo works great on the Misery, I can only imagine it does just fine here too...although those low arm points are always a pain for Atlai. I can buy it.
@Durandal yeah the hardpoints are low and have cost me more then one shot in the past but the Atlas is a flat land mech. And with the PPC's and the MLas's being in the arms you have the ability to put most of your firepower where you want it. And the seeming insane response speed on thoughs arms has allowed me to nail light mech quite a bit.
@Vergere Ok I like your build better! I never thought of going to the bigger engine for just the heatsinks. The only reason I wasn't running endo was because I needed the space. Damn it! I need to go buy a bigger engine now and give this a run
@Nemesi12824 well, you don't have to do that, but you could run something even faster. This gets you even faster and cooler! I would say the STD340 is actually worth it better than the STD330, but they are both good engines.
@Vergere Ok you just had to go and give me options didn't you... I can live without the AMS but you put BAP on the last loadout and I love BAP. Now I have to make a decision
