I thought about adding a tag and removing a HS..making a more team involved build, as a hit and run raider... gonna test out in the next few weeks..

Newbie gotta luv that. My mains a treb N.. but I play jenners also, and all the mediums....and a K2 now and then. Ive been with the game since January.

    my first build post!

I was playing this mech first like a mini hunchie P.. but found myself done under by routine side torso blow outs and death by circle knife-fighting with the lack of torso turn..80 I think...working with it on elite at the moment...and lately I have been playing all my jenners...

So I thought Id take it more of that direction.

    Cheers

I tried out the (8x MLas) "Hunch-Jack" build and found that I had to spend a lot of time facing my target to get the full damage out of each shot. This led to a lot of damage to the torso and side-torso that felt unnecessary.

I dropped the 8x MLas and added 6 Medium Pulse Lasers had a completely different experience.

The 0.6 second beam duration combined with a 36 point alpha strike is like carrying around an A/C 40 without the ghost heat. The shorter beam time also means you don't have to spend as long facing your target, which increases survivability.

    Pros:
    • 40% reduction in beam duration; allowing you to spend about half the time staring down that A/C 40 Jager.
    • High accuracy on moving targets and at critical components.
    • 36 point-alpha strike.
    • 106 kph for high-mobility and repositioning goodness.
    • The wub-wub disco light show.

    Cons:
    • A bit warm but gives about 3-4 alpha strikes without overheating (depends on the map).
    • Can be cored on the side torses, but the slim side profile really screws with peoples' aim.

I usually get 400-550 damage and 2-4 kills a match and I have the occasional 600-800 damage matches with 5-7 kills.

    Enjoy!

I have had a lot of success with a slightly modified version of this build.

I dropped the engine to an XL 270 and half a ton of armor from the arms and head. I added two more heat sinks to give it a bit more staying power. The extra heat sinks give it higher heat efficiency and sustained DPS than the traditional 8 MLas build, and no ghost heat!

It is fast enough to get in and out of tight situations and it has more presence in circle fights with lights and other mediums.

As for side torso cores it can definitely be an issue; however, I've found that twisting to show them your side often results in a whiffed shot, because the BJ is so slim, or the shot gets caught on the arms.

    4/5,
Strong burst damage and high speed. Only missing a star for the poor range on such a squishy 'Mech, but aside from that this is a well optimized build.

Updated LF-armor variant, max engine, 17 DHS:
