HBK-4P Beowulf Chimera (4x LLas, 1x MPLas, XL220)

    Been playing around with mass-hardpoint HBK builds for fun. Originally, was rolling with 4X ERLL, which I should probably run anyways because efficiency is just laughable with so many Large Lasers.

    Anyone have some comments about viability? Or is this just about as crazy as it gets? XD

    Maybe I should replace some of the Heat Sinks with LRM ammo, yeah?

    Make it more prone to exploding?

    Just strip off all your large lasers and replace them with AC20 ammo instead in various locations. The more locations the more exciting!

    If only ammo explosions had an Area of Effect, then that might actually be pretty hilarious!

    All ridiculousness aside, removed 5% efficiency and some armor for a Standard Engine. *Slightly* less messy?

    It is your heat efficiency that is gonna kill this mech. 25% is insanely hot especially in a pitched firefight. Go ahead and try it if you have all the systems already purchased and in your mech bay but I think you will find it sub-optimal.

    For a 4P i wouldn't go below a 250 Engine. Since it is an energy mech that needs as much heat sinks as it can possibly get, those 10 in-engine double heat sinks are just too good not to use.

    As a basis for a 4P i'd try either that above mentioned 250 STD or a 275 STD. The 275 gives you one more in-engine heatsink, something the 4P benefits from greatly.

    If you really want to stick to a LL 4P. 3 is the maximum you can carry effectively i think.

    Yeah, 3 is the magic number. Put a 250 on it with 3x ERLLs, 35% efficiency.

    Oh, and is the MPLas really worth adding to this thing? Would have to drop FF and 6 DMG for it, but could add another DHS for 45% efficiency. I know the Mech would be defenseless without non-Hunch weapons, though an MPLas isn't that great by itself. Maybe 2 MLas instead on the arms?

    I've got it! Throw the original loadout into a 4SP. 2xLLas per arm, smaller hunches, MPLas in the head... what could go wrong?

    Anyway, drop a DHS and put the XL225 in. You'll get slightly better cooling since it converts a chassis DHS into an engine DHS.
