Message me about anything I can do to improve posts. I'm a newbie, and I'd rather not be clueless for too long.

The idea for this was to make a moderately fast hit & run mech. While I'd say I pulled it off, I question the combination of an XLE and Gauss. Both make the survivability on this thing rather low, but it was the only way thus far.

Questions? Suggestions? Please let me know about any improvements upon the idea/design. I love constructive feedback, and I ask anyone who runs this build let me know how it goes.

Definition of glass cannon. That 1 DHS in the LT can be removed for another ton of gauss ammo or something else like a CASE to protect you from the gauss explosion.

    HBK-4G

This should solve your gauss issues and also gives you AMS for added survivability. You didnt need the 2 extra DHS, you are more than efficient enough.

I agree with the 2 less DHS, though wouldn't the CASE be limited in usefulness due to the XL? Or is that a misconception?

I suppose once armor is stripped, there's a higher chance to hit the Gauss' component than the XL. Is that why?

Well, typically you're right with the XL and gauss. If the side torso goes, you're done. But there really isnt much else to do with that .5 tons left over either and it makes me feel better. I'd rather have the CASE, or shave off another .5 tons and put something else in like another ton of ammo.

Also, You could downgrade to a STD engine, be a little slower, but not die nearly as quickly because EVERY one targets the RT on Hunchbacks. Then the CASE would work as intended.

Once the armor is exposed there is a small chance of critical hitting any given slot in that area. So less items in the given area is less chance of something exploding and killing you or just being destroyed. There are a couple exceptions like CASE and gauss ammo. Theres no guarantee that the gauss is going to be destroyed just because the armor is gone. Its very likely though due to the very low hitpoints of the rifle itself.

    What about this? :

No AMS, less armor, but Standard Engine.

I wonder if the survivability would be about the same as the XL with AMS. More speed and no XL, who knows, have yet to buy a Hunchback yet.
