I'm not going to waste my time on this game anymore. With yet another nerf to PPCs and Gauss rifles, and with plans to nerf other shit in the near future, it's abundantly clear to me that the MWO devs are a pack of cowards who would rather knuckle under the pressure of a few incompetent idiots than actually weather a bit of temporary pressure until the idiots get bored and leave. I'll be deleting my MWO account shortly. What really pisses me off is that all this nerfing is fucking pointless. EVERYONE with half a brain understands that martial power-the ability to kill your enemies w/o getting killed in turn-is purely relative; it is entirely dependent on the comparison of relative levels of power between specific fighters-NOTHING else has an effect on martial power. In MWO, this means that it doesn't fucking matter if you nerf a weapon. Everyone will just switch to other builds that you haven't got around to fucking up yet. I don't quite understand what the business model of MWO is supposed to be, but from where I'm standing, it seems that the only alternative possibility to the MWO devs being cowards is that they are deliberately trying to turn this into a pay-to-win game by fucking up the only Inner Sphere weapons that can reasonably match the Clan equivalents. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure why I'm making a post about this. A part of me is so angry that this seems a natural course of action, and part of me is hoping that enough people listen to this rant and take action in my place, 'cause God knows I'm really damn tired of making these same fucking arguments over and over and over again. I'm not arrogant enough to think that my absence will make any difference to the MWO community as a whole; maybe I've just reached the point where I flat don't fucking care anymore. I'm going to hang around mechspecs for a few days, if only because I promised Blagg that I'd post more TT BT specs on here. Beyond that, I don't think I'm going to stick around anymore.
later bro. And theres no need to delete the account. i've got spare time But on this note i do find myself playing less and less. Its still fun but currently ive got other games that require my attention until they sort all this shit out. (Metro:Last Light is pretty badass!) Although in time...i think you may regret letting your account go. What if it changes back into something you like?
If that happens, then I'll just sign up again. I'll get the newbie credit bonus for the first 25 games, and I won't have to waste my time grinding.
I didn't buy either, and I never will. I'm damn near dirt poor, and I can't afford to spend my money on something that expensive for so little value. I've spent maybe 20 bucks for extra credits, and that's it.
ow noo mate! Where are you going?? You cant go like this! Dont delete your account, not yet. At least follow the future patches until Official Release and the year thereafter. You dont know, what might come. Maybe MWO will make it better after OR. Dont give up Hope! We would miss you here alot.
afaik sep 17th.. Im still curious, which major changes they will bring in less than two weeks. But i am expecting a postponement. Who knows.. Sure, the Nerfs are disappointing, but im not taking it too deep in my heart. Just imagine they had all these "bad" weaponstats from the beginning, then maybe we wouldnt feel so betrayed. When i started playing MWO, i was shocked how many Jumpsnipers with heavy ERPPC.Loads went around. I was a bit disappointed about that, because it reminded me of good old Counterstrike times, where all the Snipers were OP. Now i feel, that Snipers are real Firesupporters and not Game.Dominators. You still can run Sniperbuilds, but you dont dominate the game with it. Thats not tooo bad. In the original TT, you never saw Mechs with Quad ERPPCs or something similar superstrong. I feel that PGI just had a wrong concept of development/marketing. Now they must change the course to make MWO be more realistic again. Dont be too harsh with them. They are "only" developers. Not Gods. I think if you just dont invest too much money into the beta.version, you might feel better. I myself payed "only" 50 bucks until now, and thats damn much for a Beta IMO. And most of them went for Mechbays and some skins. Nothing else. Im still waiting for the official release and a less.bugged game with more content, and then i might start investing more, e.g. for Hero.Mechs and everything else what should be cool.
I'm almost with Cuthulu, as UI 2.0 will not be with the release of the game. As stated by Brian Echman on the NGNG podcast Number 88.
I never expected them to be gods. I expected them to show a little bit of backbone and exercise a little bit of common sense. Here's the thing; there is one piece of this game that they have horribly fucked up that makes no sense and has ruined every other aspect of the game; The Double Heat Sinks The simple fact of the matter is that all double heat sinks, regardless of location should have 2.0 for both the cooling and max heat ratings; there is no lore/canon reason to assign a greater or lesser value, nor is there a mechanical in-game reason for it. EVERYTHING is dependent on some kind of relationship to the heat sinks, from the tonnage and space to the engine and weapons, and crippling them like they have serves no purpose except to piss people off. To the current extent that has already been implemented, this constant fucking of all weapons everywhere would be tolerable if the DHS worked the way they should. Until that happens, however, this nerfing is a game-breaker, and I will not bend over for the devs just because of some vague hope that they will magically come to their senses. it's supposed to show stats, let you re-name mechs, have 5 man teams, all kinds of stuff. supposed to come with DX11.
Is there a link to the description for that? Because none of what you've described has addressed any of my problems with MWO.
Dude, just take a break. We've all done it. Reconsider, if you don't feel like coming back, then you know it's not time, and may not ever be again.
All this talk about "martial power" and doing what has to be done to kill your opponent makes you sound like General Ripper from Dr. Strangelove. Do you have any thoughts about fluoride contamination in our water supply? Ahem. Jokes aside, we've all been at that place with a game we love(d). I remember when Blizz nerfed holy priests back in 2.2, leaving me with no competitive healing spec. Eventually, though, they buffed some other aspects of my class/spec and I came to realize that the CoH nerf they laid on my priest actually was for the better, once I started to evaluate some of the other healing specs in the game. Just saying, it's always going to be ebbs and floods with any MMO.
I have no idea what a Dr. Strangelove or a General Ripper is, so your comparison makes no sense to me; thus, I'm going to run down a couple of interpretations that do make sense to me. If you think I sound like an overly fanatical soldier, that's incorrect; I am neither military nor patriotic in any sense, though both of my parents are-my word choice is probably influenced by them, plus a LOT of military history studies and a decade or so of philosophy studies. If you think I sound crazy, whatever. If you are foolish enough to interpret my words that way, I won't spend what little energy I have arguing with you.
k
We haven't exactly got along very well, but I would prefer to talk about this like adults. If you are going to disagree with me, have the balls to do it in an intelligent manner. If you refuse, don't start whining when I treat you like a child.
I'm with the above, no point in deleting the account just yet. Just stop playing and if you feel the same after some time you know the decision was right and you can still ditch the account. But, it's entirely your decision and I understand your frustration
You are not allowed through the front door until you watch this Peter Sellers masterpiece. Good day Sir. On deleting your account... sure, bite your own nose off... no one will stop you. But it looks like most of us suggest relieving your frustration some other way though. Don't get me wrong, i'm not happy with it too, but for now, it's a game. I wish it was better. If it does become better, i'll have my leveled mechs and a stash of Cs to work with. hear:
Or at least, plzzz, sell your account to someone else.. or if ya dont want the money just give it to someone for free... maybe me!
