Hi all, I am a newcomer to MWO and i want to share with you this build. As a newbie in this game, I soon learned the hard way that I cannot go solo (and I am a bit old too, thus I think I will never be able too ). I find myself quite effective at escorting Assault mech with my K2 with double UAC5 and my A1 (low cost build 2*SRM6 and 4*LRM5) as i often score 6 to 8 assist and more than 300 damage. But for the C4, I was not able to find a good build for a long time. This one allows you to engage fight from long range with your LRM20+A, and when closing up the distance, to assist assault mechs with a brutal 3xSRM6+A and 2*MLas. If you achieve to Alpha someone, it is quite deadly, but heat is really high! Speed can seem a bit low for a catapult but, as long as the assault mechs are standing still, people seems to prefer aiming them than me Hope to see you on field.
hello Ark, welcome to Mechspecs and nice job with your first build. LRM and SRM accompanied with Artemis are so brutal Good armor distribution, and you used every hardpoint available especially the 3 SRMs (btw, the SRM ammos are too much I think but great deal you have lots of ammo) for great firepower also, it can defend itself against nearby enemy units but make sure not to fire them(SRMs) all at once or else you'll overheat xD. But to avoid things to happen, trade some SRM ammos for heatsinks so the heat will go down faster 4-5 stars
Thanks for your comment. Heat is clearly the weak point of this design, but i currently did not find a way I like to overcome it as there is no free slot left, and to add 1 DHS, i need 3 free slot... I imagine this one, but there is just not enough ammo for my playstyle : Pro : Go faster Better heat management Con : Not enough ammo
Here is my variation on your theme: Drop the LRM20 to LRM15, juggle ammo around a bit, larger engine to fit more heatsinks. If you remove the LRM15, it's got a 48% heat efficiency, so unless you're in that 90m zone where you can shoot everything at once, this setup will run just fine.
