I was just reading about ECM here and I noticed that there was the D-DC atlas in the list of mechs that can use ECM. At first I was surprised, I wondered what you could do with a huge ECM Atlas but then I thought about it. To get it out of the way....Every Scout lance needs ECM . This could do allot for brawler mobility. Many brawlers have allot of close range weapons witch do not help in the prolonged pop and shoot fights that have been happening lately. With this a D-DC with ECM can stand back some and wait for the fight to start....wait for people to start popping around corners and popping off shots then pull some brawlers with him and flank quietly. By the time that the occupied team knows what happened there is an atlas 200m away and the other half of the team is pushing forward for the kill. At least thats my thoughts on it. What do you guys think about it.
I'm personally wondering if it makes sense to try and set up a D-DC to use counter-ecm and quickly swat ecm lights that try to swarm over you. Counter-ecm and triple streaks would make a nice base for pegging jenners, but it removes the triple srm6 punch that this variant is usually known for. You can get triple streaks and a pair of LB 10-x ACs, but even with a pair of large lasers backing them up I'm wondering if it gives up too much raw firepower to gain that anti-light ability. It'd be a very defense-oriented build, for sure, but the thought of unleashing all that shotgun and streak goodness on those jenners that think they're untargetable *is* appealing.
Lol sorry for crappy pic, was so excited I took cell pic instead of screenshot.. durr... anyway 1203 dmg
I had nothing but 3 victors before I bought my DDC. I am still learning that lack of mobility basically means I cannot make a mistake on a push. Every mistake I make I lose a torso, an arm or I die. I want to say its a much much less pug friendly mech because strangers have no qualms about leaving you behind to die and can't read your mind that you're going to charge. Otherwise its a fantastic mech and the ECM coverage is noticeable
I piloted stalkers and victors before, but this is a completely different type of beast. Mistake on a push means you're either dead or mostly useless. It doesn't pack as much heat as a stalker, it isn't mobile like VTR/HGN, but it has a lot of armor (although not as much as i thought initially) and is generally "The Guy" which everyone covers behind or fears confronting.
