This was a fun little pic I stumbled across while looking for some more BT pics. Apparently this guy made a cross-over between the Battlemechs of BattleTech and the Adeptus Mechanicus from Warhammer 40K; The Battlemech on the left is a 85-ton C-SRP-0 Seraph, and the one on the right is a 45-ton C-PRT-0 Preta. Both can be found in the TR 3075 book. I'll post the stats later-right now, I'm tired.

Yeah man, Yen Lo Wang! No, it`s only the guy from Shadow Warrior.

You're missing another mechwarrior game from 1997 in that video. It was from Akamai i think (they did a plane simulator too back then) It was a multiplayer Mechwarrior using the old Mechwarrior 1 engine. They had an Archer (with 2 rear firing lasers) a Grasshopper.. all the old mechs. MechWarrior 1 on the 486 DX2 with a turbo button, for those 40Hz. (went from 20 to 40Hz) A) when negotiating a contract, you can slowly increase your payout till it's ludicrous, but this took some time. B) the fastest way to win was to select base defense, grab a locust, run around them and knee cap. Still thing Living Legend is better. Their targeting reticule makes so much more sense. And on the map you can go passive or active with your sensors. The 2 battletech games were also fun. Loved dropping in to try and save the Blazing Aces. p.s. Anyone play Cyber Wars (or something like that)? It was a hex map turn based game. You had to breed your pilot,s they were genetically modified and protect corporate assets. They had a few cool mechs there, one of them being called a Demon, had 4 arms.
My first encounter with Battletech/Mechwarrior have been the books (I think I still own 30 something), then i started to play the tabletop and a friend had MW2 on his pc (unfortunately my own wasnt capable to run this)... From time to time I'm searching for one of my favorite books and read it (like the Ardan Sortek story or the beginning of the Grey Death Legion, Kai Allard Liao on Solaris, etc. - some good "fast food" for the mind^^).
Table top Battletech at the local hobby shop when I was in High School.... that would be 1986. I still have most of my technical readouts. I have the first edition rulebook for the mechwarrior roleplaying game too.
Now that the Clan Mechs finally have arrived let`s have a look at the first MechWarrior PC Game dedicated all to the Clanners: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjiSZwisUWw Now that was in High Resolution... in the old 90's you didn`t have HD! So take a look at the original Resolution we all Oldies played! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0Ie9407-kA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nyRo7lJ564 - epic cinematic intro - epic sound score - epic grafix (for that time at least ) - epic missions - PPCs were never a Highspeed Energy Poptard Sniper Weapon. It was just a huge Ball of massive Energy of Destruction. PGI what have you done???
I was running my copy (DOS version) at 1024x768.... thought I was living large I did.
- PPCs were never a Highspeed Energy Poptard Sniper Weapon. It was just a huge Ball of massive Energy of Destruction. PGI what have you done???
I might add, a very slow moving huge Ball of massive Energy of Destruction... not what I had imagined from table top rules
But that Slow ball of Energy was the Easiest way to Balance the weapon in That game. Not MWO. Not Today.
Yeah that Blue energy Ball was epic. It was slow but was satisfying if you can hit with it at far distant targets. Now imagine the PPC in MWO would shoot the same slow energy Ball. THat would be fun!
Ow i love to watch the PPC from MW2 ... soo beautiful ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWzWdwj9NvU(from 42')
first mechwarrior related thing i remember seeing was the mw2 mercenaries trailer, bundled with a game called hyperblade. eventually i played the MW3 demo, was amazed at what they managed to achieve with that time's graphics(and still am - they managed to implement both multiple picture-in-picture and heatwave effects in dx7), but slow, expensive internet ended up suppressing the interest on it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgJq2zZ2UbI Worst review ever but I fondly remember this game ... looking back at it now.... ummh. Look we didn't have many BT games back then!!!!
