So this is the dreaded 2 x AC/5, 2 x UAC/5 built that we have been using. We have been running in a group of 3 and unless we get extremely over confident (which will happen) this build scares entire teams. You can suppress other mechs from an extreme range the DPS isn't as effective when you do that but it stops people from shooting you.

    Weapon Grouping

Now we are still playing around with this but we found that this can work well.

Group 1 - 2 x AC/5 - Which you just hold down on target and never let go once you get in close range

Group 2 - 2 x UAC/5 - You can just hold this down too jamming be damned if you choose. We did find that firing this way caused you to overheat eventually. Pulsing your right click gives better DPS, less jamming, and less chance of overheating

    Pros:

    -High DPS
    -Decent Range
    -Cockpit shake on enemy mech
    -Suppression

    Cons:

    -Weak to lights solo
    -XL engine
    -running out of ammo

I'm glad to see this build make it in here. It's devastating, especially when en mass. I've been steamrolled in Frozen City's Tunnel by this build.

    Done!

In a group of 3 which were were running wednesday night we would routinely kill the whole other team. We would lose 1 or 2 of us maybe. Realistically focus firing works with any combination of mechs but 6 AC/5's and 6 UAC/5's all firing in staccato is a sight to behold.

Makes me think of the Machine Gun Bukakke video which can be found HERE. Simply hilarious, and the music helps, hahaha.

I can imagine a team of CTF-4X with quad Maching guns, hahaha.

Why do you need DHS with all balistic build? I'm running a quad AC/5 build and barely see any heat unless I'm in the crater map firing full auto for a long length of time.

At the same time, what's your advice on making sure your shots land on target? I'm having quite a bit of problem making my shots land on the enemy especially at closer ranges. The shot diverges and miss the mechs all together. I've also seen enemy mechs to ram up close to me, and my shots just go through its legs (whereas the gaussapult's gauss cannons have to compulsion to alpha in my face).

On the 4 x your arms are wider than your body so if you are trying to shoot someone that is right in your face but you are holding your arms at your side it is going to be hard to hit them. I find that if you are trying to hit them up close you need to aim to the far shoulder and sometimes in front of them to lead the shot. The only time I really don't need to aim off target is at long and medium ranges and they are moving toward me. Also remember what arm you are firing from. you need to compensate for each are slightly differently even when you are leading the same direction. It should do better once you get the convergence bonus in the elite skills, I am not there yet so I can't say for sure.

As for gauss not having that issue is that the gauss are not on the arms. The big guns you are looking at are PPCs that are not on the mech. The gauss rifle themselfs are mounted on the left and right torso of the mech where the machine guns originally are. I have not tried a dual gauss build on my 4x but I bet it would have the same issue as the a/c. So word to the wise when fighting a gausskitty, don't aim for the "arm" shoot the side of main torso to disable them.

Originally before the hotfix to UAC/5 you could over heat in this mech just by the pure amount of shots you were firing off. We overheated numerous times on all different maps which is why we grabbed DHS. It isn't required as much anymore but it can be dependent on how many jambs you get.

Swapped my quad ac/2 build over to this and oh my god is it nasty. Never less than 2 kills in every match and 700+ damage consistently. Mine show running 1.52 heat efficiency with this exact build.

Balls out one of my all time favorite configurations on any mech. it is even more fun than my AWS-8R with 4xsrm6's and 3xML's

    Thank you!

I'll have to look and update the heat efficiency. My spreadsheet is actually saying 1.2 right now.

What actually allows one to place an XL 255 engine in the CT of this mech?

Not 100% what your issue is but I would strip everything from you mech and pull out the existing engine. The mech bay doesn't show that you can put in a large engine while your current engine is still equipped.

Oh ho ho ho, I just met this build in game with my 2 UAC-5 Catapult. I killed an Altas by myself and this Catphract comes out of no where and wrecks me. Absolutely devastating build, I will have to try this one out.

This build is great if no one shoots at you. Mine folds up like a paper doll :/

I have been playing a similar build with less armour on stock engine but now have bought a 215xl and

every way I try to build this I am 3 slots short, and that's with a 215XL??

Went from my 2x AC/10 build to this, and I got about double of kills/damage/XP as before. Nice and snappy setup! :)

I've taken this build but with an XL 225 Engine in order to keep the armour almost at max.

It is definitely a lot better than the Stock Mech and my damage count went up nicely, though I am still too fresh to the game to know when to charge in and when to stay with my lance. I sometimes find myself 300-400 meters in front of my team, despite being one of the slowest, and then getting shot to scrap left and right.

None the less, thank you for the inspiration and I definitely will get more practice in.
