With XL: I was trying to find a way to control the amount of explosive ammo in the Victor so I wanted as much energy punch as possible, while still keeping the AC/20 for boom. This works out perfectly. Think how bad the AC/20 Boomjager is, then put it in a jumping assault mech that can do it with a Standard engine, or a really fast XL. And still be able to reach out to long range with one of the arms. Works exceptionally well for me, and is actually pretty cool running.
Thanks! I REALLY like it. I am frankly surprised I hadn't thought of it, or seen it before. Maybe it was the thought it would be to hot, or the range differences in the weapons? Regardless you get someone at like 120-150 meters and they're gonna hurt.
Because the gauss arm is for the highland. If you can mount an AC/20 you should. Artemis doesn't matter as there isn't any missiles on it.
I have not tried this, so I won't rate it yet. However, the range on these weapons just feels so restrictive. You have two groups of burst 20s. One; sniper weapons that will produce a max of 5DPS. Then a short range, again, max 5DPS with a relatively small sweet spot to use both. Still, max DPS of 10 - firing all weapons on cool-down within that 90-300m range. I expect an assault to have much higher max DPS in close or more firepower for range. Again, this is all just theory-crafting from my experience. I'm just not sure what role this mech is aiming for. Mid-range support? The clean-up for wounded mechs? The alpha of 40 into a precise target area is great! I'm just not too keen on 3 weapons with 4 second cool-downs for a max DPS of 10 withing a limited range window. If it's working for you, awesome! Keep it up. There is definitely some power to bring some punishment in the right group and situations. I may make the build and run a dozen drops and see how I like it. If so, I'll either eat crow and give you the stars you deserve, or, I'll post my findings with my play-style. It's your build, if you love it, rock it!
Thanks! When driving it be sure to remember to not face hug, and to hit and run like a victor should.
This is essentially the same load-out as FuzzyBunny's 'Kidney Shot', though it trades a little speed for more armour, ammo and manoeuvrability. For a more brawl-oriented build, swap out the PPCs for LPLas:
3/5 Been trying to give the AC/10 some love. I dont know if I should make a new thread for this. Still not sold on this build. I need to adjust my playstyle, thats probably why I'm not sold on it.
Yeah, I'm not enjoying running in to these atm... There were two of them in this match, one guy got 8 freakin' kills with it!
Lol, created the account to take a curtain call, and didn't even post his modifications. I oughta put this in a meme between rounds.
Merged these three Victor builds as they were essentially the same build with an engine tweak and JJ tweak here and there. Weapons loadouts were the same.
5/5, I love this build ! I use with XL350. But vs light you must have the timing ! ( and if you can explain how i miss this locus when he shut down in the video ... )
