Nick in game CL7K20 Large maps being more and more put in front of us got me thinking about long to medium range build with enough firepower to brawl as well. With 12vs12 coming there will be more targets to shoot at and thus having more ammo counts in the long run. Never finished a 8v8 w/o ammo. This build has me most satisfied, and i have been playing it for quite some time now. Its fun, you can snipe or cover friendly rush by keeping your targets pined down behind cover, or you can simply rush and take ANYTHING one on one. Weapon Grouping: G1 = 2 x ERPPC G2 = Gauss Cannon G3 = 16 x SRM Weapon Firing: Chain firing ERPPC works when you are close to that 1 more shot that will overheat you and trow you in a shut down. Also good for open maps with 1620 on max range of effect ERPPC are good for keeping enemy mech pined down behind cover. If your aim is true and you want maximum effect on certain component of enemy mech then fire 2XERPPC and Gauss together. Gauss has even more maximum range so if your aim is really good you could Alpha G1&2 for some nice crits. SRM + Artemis is something i find usefull , insted of having 18 SRM's hit all over center of the mech or a side if your off aim or laging which for me as EU player is normal 150ping i tend to judge badly on where SRM are gonna hit + lag = 10 out of 18 rockets hitting at maximum range, with Artemis i have improved this much and at 270m of range to target most times all of 16 will hit center torso and do spalsh dmg to other parts. It has many flaws like any mech build: - medium legs armor - slower 300 engine with 2 slots for HS - prone to overheat Medium leg armor is prolly the least of your worries since not many pilots go for the legs on the Atlas. Slower 300 engine beside having 2 built in HS slots its going 53 Kph which is a bit slower and on big maps in pugs expect to get to action the last if your team has the upper hand. Overheating problem is for me more pilot depended then anything , if you override that shutdown and move back to cover after your last shot on 100% then its all good. Also i switch between chain fire and alpha on ERPPC depending on situation and env.heat%. You can also take this build and tweak it even more, with things you think are working for you. I tried a lot past month or so this is what i came up with. Also 2x LPL can work really well for a Brawl only build.
I agree with your opinions on this mech OP. I think in order to fix those issues with it, you should take out Artemis, and 1 ton of ammo for your SRM's. maybe run it like this. Welcome to Mechspecs, Hope you enjoy your stay
Yeah been switching 325 and 300eng in it a lot. At cost of some ammo and some other bits. But this build is leaning more to 12vs12. If it comes to that it will need even more ammo, Artemis is 1st in the list to go for 3 more tons. I think over all i bought Artemis for that Atlas variant like 5 times , switching between standard and artemis...To bad that once u buy an upgrade it doesnt stay in mechlab hangar. And thnx on the welcome.
Yeah i agree with you guys completely! At this moment the game could use less ammo more Hs for that dps. Did a lot of tweaks , a lot of builds , but im still on the hunt for the perfect one. My aim was to get ready for 12v12 ammo and durability wise. With next patch comin with +1 heat on ppc things are gonna get even worse for this build. As i said before , im still on the hunt. Can call it Puppeteer vs PGI
