What 'Mech would I love to have? That's still debatable. Please take into account I spent 5 years in the Mechwarrior III Clan environment. Whilst I had the pleasure to run the Chassis that were available in that time-line, I'm still getting the "feel" for some of the ones in this 3049 era. So this question will need to be answered again six months from now lol. Ironically, back then, my favorites stemmed from the Medium to Heavy weight class, but I've found myself becomming quite attached to the Lights of this era. At this stage (of game implementation) I find it hard to make a specific choice, as not everything has been introduced as of yet. What WAS my dream mech? That I can answer. It was a tie between the Bushwacker and the Avatar, but to make one choice, the Avatar gets it hands down. While the Bushwacker was a smaller and faster target, the Avatar made up for it in weapons versatility. Add to that Jump Jets, BAP, LAMS, and the advanced gyro turret, it seems to have everything one would need with the exception of ECM. (Need to stay close to a 'Mech with AECM). It can be outfitted to cover all combat ranges and retrofitted to suit any environment. My favorite loadout would probably consist of ER PPC, LB-X AC/20, and a pair of Medium Lasers.
Uziel .....Im not sure how it would fair in ths game but I had a Dual ERPPC build for the Uziel in MW4 that I could do horrible horrible things with. I LOVED it.
I'd love to see a Nova Cat. My main reason would have to be that I love the body design. Besides that, it would be another Heavy class 'mech with Jump Jets. EDIT: and a link for a nice 3D model of a Nova Cat!!
Ugly as they come....massive side torsos and a jutting head in the middle that just screams shoot me gauss cat shoot me! And I would run it with Dual ER PPCs Speed and a dream ..... but then again i'm crazy that way and tend to try to go against the laws of the "correct" or "Best" build for a mech. More fun that way....takes more skill.... and if you find a way to do go against the proper loadout gods and still find a way to thrive then it is immensely gratifying!
I also used to use the Uziel in MW4 with dual PPCs and JJ. For a medium, it was quite devastating. When I needed a larger mech in that game I switched to a Marauder with two PPCs with the recharge/capacitor. They were hot, but with nothing else on it but HS and with the double time firing it was scary good. But as for the Uziel, I really liked that mech even if it was ugly. And the destruction it caused was a thing of beauty.
I would say the Mauler or the Annihilator (and the cool thing: there are rumors on the Mauler getting in)
I've fit all a Devastator's weaponry on a K2 before for fun (well, minus the mediums). It just feels dirty when I one-shot LRM Cats in the face from outside their max range...
