For the longest time I have not found myself able to pilot assault 'mechs, always feeling personally that they were either too slow and clumsy (i.e. any assault but the Awesome), or the hardpoints just didn't feel right for my style (i.e. the Awesome itself). Then the Victor came out. Hardpoints of a Highlander, speed potential of an awesome, AND JJ's?? I'm all over that. Gauss for the long range poke and prod, 3x mediums for the mid/close range pinpoint damage for those torsos, and the SRM10 for that close range finishing punch. 6 Jump jets allows this 'mech to match if not exceed the jump capabilities of many other mechs. And speed? HOT DIGGITY has this thing got speed! 74.9 (82.4) KPH makes this mech my second fastest out of all of them, beaten only by my centurion (I run heavies and cents). Usually an XL would be risky in an assault mech, but with this chassis's similar size and build to a quickdraw (which I for some reason find riduculously hard to kill) and the speed of most of the XL-running heavies it has just enough agility to spread the damage out across the mech. I've had some insane matches in this mech, from 6 kills with 3 as last man standing to surviving with 26% hp and all weapons intact! The Victor is easily the only assault that I can stand, and is quickly turning into one of my favorite mechs! But don't take my word for it; try it out and let me know what you think!
Fair enough. I do find myself running out slightly often. Downgrading that SRM could also allow one to remove the heatsink from the engine in order to add a ton of armor to the arms and legs. Also I noticed that you moved the gauss ammo to the left torso; I had thought to put it in the right arm to pad the gauss rifle itself and am curious what your thoughts are on it.

Just because a part of your mech is used as padding, doesn't mean it can't be destroyed. Gauss ammo is precious. and can cause critical hits. and that's bad. So I don't pad. Not with ammo. I would use JJ, since they have a higher hit poll than any other module. but I can't put them in the arms.
I had an unused XL380 sitting around that used to be in my Pretty Baby (poor investment of C-Bills... until now) and threw together something similar to this, just with less jump jets. It's an amazing Gauss platform. I just had a game tonight where it was 3 on 1 at the end of a match and I somehow pulled out a win. Full stars for this guy.
CASE can only be installed in the side torsos of mechs currently. It would protect your engine from a gauss explosion. But, How much damage do you take when an Gauss rifle explodes in your arm VS in the Side torso? Much less when the gauss is in the arm, I can tell you that.
Good build. I'm running something similar, a little bit slower, but with more ammo. I've considered dropping a couple tons of ammo and upping the armor by a half ton for AMS, but so far the ammo has been worth it, and LRMs haven't been a problem. this may change after the SRM-fest from the most recent patch wanes a bit, but its been a very solid build.
