Let's face it, the Awesome is not that awesome. So basically this is yet another "which one should I buy" thread. Unfortunately I only have a Pretty Baby, and I don't know much about this mech. I heard the 9M is nice, but that is about it. The 8Q seems to be useful for some Energy spamming, the rest, I am not sure. Any suggestions? I think I need som help here!
I would recommend the 8Q, or the 8T. 1 mech is a laser boat, and the other is an jack of all trades. The 9M is the better brawler, due to it's higher engine limit. I wouldn't recommend the 8V. It has all of it's missile weapons in one torso, and is not prefered IMHO. The 8R is more specialized, since it makes a great missile boat, but a poor anything else. All chassis have the same Torso and Arm degree of movement(according to smurfy). I also only have the PB, and am going to the 8Q first. I like my Lasers.
The 9M is a lot of fun, but it's quite expensive to build. Smurfy will give a more accurate assessment for each build. The 8T is doing better since the heat nerf, but we'll see. The 8R is debatably the best missile boat at the moment because it can launch all in one volley. Still not done reconfiguring the 8Q for the nerf, no strong opinions yet.
^^ this. Personally i'd say invest your time and money in a different mech. I love my pretty baby, but none of the others. 9/10 times i come across an awesome i dont worry. They are pretty easy to take down and usually very specialized so they are easily countered.
I really do like driving the Awesomes I have... but if we're being honest, Leonhart is right. A Victor, or holding out for an Orion might be wiser.
After buying an XL385 I am strongly considering buying the AWS-9M. I already mastered the 8R, so I do have some limited experience with this chassis. As I am also an avid Dragon player I know how to twist my torso... a lot. So, can anyone recommend on that particular variant? This questions arises because first of all the AWS aren't very popular at all, so I think I should take answers with a grain of salt. And secondly, the builds presented here are quite dated in comparison to other chassis and variants.
Do you like Energy-boating? If yes -> yes! One of the strongest Awesomes is the AWS-9M thx to the high Mobility for an Assault.Mech.
