This version is currently working alright, sometimes even good/great.

It doesn't really work well as a brawler, but if you manage to stay in the background and pick at people, it's fairly easy to get better than 500 damage in a round. Because the lasers don't cause screenshake, and they are also one beam each, they're actually a bit deceptive: players don't realize they just took a hit that big.

The medium laser looks superfluous at first, but if you add it in with the large lasers you can very closely approximate an AC/40 hit (your aim has to be steady, of course).

The SRM's do alright for scaring off brawlers. Very easy to overheat if somebody does close with you.

[Edit: There's no AMS in this version, so you have to do.. sexually inappropriate things.. to the cover in order to make it work.]

As a side note, this account is the former Praslek2.

A descent loadout, I would try to increase the Armor values, since you don't have AMS. You could use a small laser in the head to add that half ton, but I'm not sure...

Your comment makes me think that you didn't actually look at where the armor was shaved.

and your comment makes me wet when I pilot a light mech, since legging this build would be 3 alpha's from a Jenner-F.

    AS I SAID

    you might need more armor.

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating this build for truly competitive play.

What value of leg armor do you think is enough to deter a light from targeting the leg of an Awesome?

The impression that I've gotten is that the torso is a bullet magnet because it's impossible to miss. Almost nobody seems to prioritize the legs of an Awesome.

What are your credentials to be taking such an authoritative tone, may I ask?

None really, I just like the loadout. But, I've also been legged in an Awesome before, and it is never fun. I might just move the ammo to different parts of the mech, to avoid such a fate, but as you said, those side torso's are impossible to miss.

Thanks, it gives comments some perspective to know where they're coming from.

My approach to leg armor here isn't that the legs should have enough armor to literally protect them, it's to put enough armor on them that it's always better to focus the torso first.
