28 Firepower from a light mech with full armor and a potential 106.9 kph (with Speed Tweak) it is more then capable on its own. You can swap out both SRM6's for SRM4's and get some AMS making it even more supportive when combined with the bigger mechs. The Raven truly shines when Assisting the big mechs and protecting them from enemy Lights. If you want you can free up an extra 1 to 2 Tons from dropping the engine size especially if your insisting on staying with the big mechs to assist/defend them. This mech also has an electronics suite; ECM and TAG
Wow, I'm impressed with this! At least on paper! I am gonna have to buy and outfit this build in game. How do you find the ammo consumption on the SRMs during a pitched firefight?
Currently i run with a few ton's of SRM ammo so i have no issues. However when ECM is implemented i will only have 1 Ton and be playing a Supportive role staying close to big mechs so my SRM ammo should be good, I wont be running round shooting but instead waiting for the Mechs to come to us. Glad to help with another Raven build
Yeah there aren't too many Raven pilots out there yet; think it may be the lack of ECM and electronics suites but we will see once that is released. Is there a way to shoehorn a 2nd ton of ammo on there and still allow for ECM?
If your using SRM4's you have enough heatsinks to consider dropping one for an extra ton of ammo. Depends on how well you can manage the heat i guess
Edited and removed. Not very good with HTML You still have the same Stats on the mech. Just added an extra SRM on the table. Sorry about that. I have verified the stats in MWO
looks solid. The critique against this thing is as of now, it biggest weakness would be a jenner and theres a 1 and 3 chance that....
I have no issues with Jenners =/ Tougher then the jenners armor wise just grind them down. Plus if your playing the raven right your hanging around the bigger mechs. If the Jenner circles you it lines itself up to the bigger mech at some point, Bringing a swift end to the jenner.
I had trouble hitting moving targets with the 2nd SRM6 on this build. As the NARC hard point launches missiles one at a time.
Played this build again tonight except I pulled the TAG and took an extra ton of SRM ammo. I still think that 2nd SRM6 launcher is hard to aim at moving targets. But against stationary targets it's incredible. The SRMs seem to all hit the same location.
Indeed, after a while its abit easier to aim it. But definitely do not group it with the other SRM6. INstead save it for easy targets such as big mechs, or when your chasing right behind/alpha striking.
I've updated this mech for you by adding the GUARDIAN ECM and tweaking a few things here and there but keeping with your original build intentions.
I have to agree with RC23 about the second SRM6 in the NARC Launcher. I doubt that launcher averages more than 2 missile hits per strike. Put an SRM 2 in there and upgrade ammo or the like... At least I wouldn't be able to hit anything with it. Mythweaver.
I've used a mech like this before. The SRM attack is more like jousting. Head in for a straight on pass (pref. from behind) and unload then steer off and set up for another run. Moving on a horizontal plane is near impossible for me with the SRMs
