A friend asked me for some firebrand builds and I was surprised to not see this one here. People just not into it? It's been my main mech for a while and I love it. Perfect for farming because you can delete components and go for torso and head shots when playing normal. You bind one of your clicks to alpha strike and the other to just the top 2 ERPPCs for peeking over and sniping.

Now, this build run's TOO hot for my taste's. For some one else willing to snipe like a stalker, It's great if you lock your arms to your CT. That said, you will have problems engaging with lights, if you don't unlock them. Not a great build for noobs, but like any tool, it can be deadly in the right hands. EDIT~also, only put a max of 12 armor points to your rear. You should be shooting your enemy in the face, not getting rear ended.~
It runs hot but its managable with the clicks laid out like I mentioned, there are no accidental overheats in this mech either. My in game front armour is higher(70 I think), just forgot to change it on smurfy. Lights are easier than you think, just hit them on their apogee or perigee and they get pretty scared. And I'm pretty average at this game so someone decent could probably hit them mid stride. Just gotta learn your lead times for ppcs. I used to run 2x ers and 2x regulars but it's crap for deleting components at range before anyone has really engaged. The FB was my first mech and my other two mechs were wasted slots because I listened to idiots with youtube channels who recommended poor first mechs. So I would be doing this as a stalker but I don't have one.
That's my exact build. There is no wasted weight in game but there is on smurfy, dunno why. I would probably trade up for the stalker version but I do love this and is my go to mech when I wanna have some fun.
I prefer the 3xPPC build (posted it here). Simply because it runs cooler and I can use it more in the midrange.
You can setup bindings to use only 3 when in close range and you need almost constant fire. I do it a fair bit. The 4x version isn't sacrificing armour really so no need for the extra weight. If I was aiming more for mid range I wouldn't have an XL engine in there.
Yea, I actually like the idea of 3x erppc and 7 more tonnes of engine. Possibly a little more if drop one or two heatsinks.
It's a nice weapon loadout, but I can make origami without my computer if I want. I prefer my mech to be able to stand up to a stiff breeze.
