    This is a run of my Stormscour Hunchback (3x PPCs, 260XL Engine). I posted the full build here;

I should note that there is some time-skipping: I use the free version of FRAPS, which limits all video recordings to a maximum of 30 seconds. I edited the fragments into one long video with Sony Vegas.

Also, I play MWO on my laptop-normally I have 22-24 FPS, but FRAPS dropped it to 12-14, which resulted in me making a few mistakes.

That being said, I'm happy with how this came out. Need to figure out how to make Youtube render it in hi-def, but I don't think it's too bad for a very first video.

Special thanks to Michael, Athariel, and Lan for their patient assistance.

The audio is weird, does it sound like this way when you play?

Nothing special, just upload an HD video.

    Holy mother of gods.

Glad to help, you may want to test MSI Afterburner (yes, it is a overclocking tool but it does have record capabilities too) which is free and a lot less demanding then FRAPS. Afterburner doesn't give you the same crisp and clear recordings but it's easier on your laptop and FPS probably.

I will look at the video when I get home tonight, MWO videos at work is probably frowned upon..

Not always, but it does do it occasionally, and I think FRAPS may have done something to it as well.

    Thx for the advice.

And considering my performance, I'll take that HMOG! as a compliment. :p

I'll run FRAPS a few more times after tweaking it to see what happens, but MSI-A sounds pretty good.

And what the hell are you talking about? What kind of insane commander cares so little for the morale of his/her troops that 6-ish minutes of entertainment is unacceptable?! o_O

Office landscape, senior material planner at a company you all know the name of. You have all used our products by sea, air or landtravel.

And nope, not gonna tell yah. ;)

Will be back later with feedback, as promised.

You definitely can, I don't know how you can aim at such a low framerate, or even play at all.

    Two thoughts about your game:
    - is there a reason why you rarely use the zoom? I've no sniper lessons to give since I really suck at this, but I feel you can find the zoom good help.
(arf, I sometimes even zoom when firing small lasers!)
    - lock your targets. It allows you to be aware of enemy status and it helps your team mates to now who you're shooting at and where he is (not only the LRMs, it helps focusing fire in pugs).

-TL:DR summary; I don't find zoom to be all that useful.

    Lecture:
The purpose of zooming is twofold. 1st, it helps you to more easily identify a target at long range, limiting the cover effects of terrain and atmospherics. 2nd, it helps you to more easily target specific areas at long range.

However, zooming mechanics, both in-game and with RL equipment like telescopic scopes, hinders your awareness of the surrounding battlefield while in use; not only does it limit your vision, but the magnification of your target triggers an instinctive response to focus more intensely on that target, to the exclusion of other stimuli. What's more, because your field of vision is reduced, your margin of perception (the area in which you can effectively track a target) is proportionately reduced as well; thus, if your target pulls a fancy maneuver, or if a secondary target moves in to cover them, your ability to react to and compensate for the interference is hindered.

All in all, as long as I can hit the target w/o zooming, it is always preferable (at least in my opinion) to do so; not zooming makes it easier for me to ninja people :phear:

-Not locking was the big mistake I made in the battle. Having to constantly hit the FRAPS hotkey distracted me too much

I understand your concern about situational awareness, but you don't have to zoom all the time. Actually, unzoom as much as you zoom: locate a target, zoom, place one or two shots, unzoom, etc.
The mistake would be to stay in tunnel vision for a long time (I see that a lot when I spec) but one situational check every few seconds is enough not to be surprised by a sudden battlefield configuration change.

I agree that as long as you can hit it's good, but zoom would allow you a more precise and selective aim.
