Time for a revamp since new changes come out first....Information

This is a close fire support mech built to work with larger more heavily armored brawlers. This is not a front line mech, more second line ... it is meant to come in behind the brawlers and once they have engaged move through the melee firing on weak internals trying to take them down so that the brawlers can move on to the next target. Essentially it is a mop up tool. Made to get in and take drive by pot shots then get out if need be.

Note: With the recent tightning of the LBX this build is a bit more effective but it will ALWAYS be dependent on other members of your team to truly shine.

I absolutely love this build! I made a few small changes after playing with it for a couple rounds. Put the ammo in the legs to remove the need for CASE and added another DHS to the RA to manage the heat a bit more. Other then those changes this is a very solid build for up close brawling.

I was a bit wary of trying this build as I didn't get on with the LB 10-X in beta and there are a lot of mixed opinions on it (mostly saying they suck), but I have to say, this thing is a beast! I too moved the ammo to the legs but fitted an AMS as the inadvertent LRM buff was active when I first tried it.

Thanks for the build tuku, I might have to see if I can get a twin LB 10-Xs on my Dragon now

yeah this build is super fun...i didnt want another gaussapult running around and this fits the bill...great build thanks!

i also put the ammo in legs and ditched the cases...i used the extra tonnage for more armor as i play this thing as a brawler sort of

    I love this build!

The only things i did differently was add a 265XL and beefed up the armor. (I tend to stick my mech where it doesn't belong.)

Hey there Tuku, I'll give this thing a go this week. I love the LB10-X and 4x Med.Laser Build, a have two different 'mechs that I run with it. Adding in that second LB10-X is just awesome. See ya on the battlefileld.

New here guys, I have been running this build a couple of days now with the exception of an AC10 for one of the LB10-X guns and yea, I like it.

I try an get in a couple of shots with the MLAS and AC10, then follow up with a shot of the LB10-X to exploit compromised locations. and hopefully increase chances of crits if I understand the mechanics correctly. It seems to do well.

Tweaked this build a bit. Since this mech relies on staying with Assault mechs, I dropped the engine to an XL250, added more armor and LB-10X ammo.

Zharkov, XL 255 weighs the same as XL 250.

I wouldn't go full armor - you can generally sacrifice armor on the legs a bit in order to bump yourself up to the next ton. Round the armor down and take off AMS, shouldn't be too hard to fit an XL 300 on there.

I appreciate what you're going for, but I (almost) never drop the speed below the stock version. 75 rounds should get you through almost any encounter. I've posted the build that I use. This build got 5 kills doing exactly what you want your build to do: escort an assault.

Ran Archwright's version last night. This is a fun and effective load-out. I use the double LB 10's like I would SRM's. They deliver a satisfying thump. I ran around with alpha strike set to my left mouse and never over heated. This thing hit hard enough to back off assaults and send lights scampering away. Other heavies and some mediums seemed to want to try to run through the wall of lead and lasers, much to their chagrin. I was averaging around 350-400ish damage and 2-3 kills a game with multiple assists. You can't sit still in the mech. Lots of drive-by and circle back around behind your assaults. Rinse and repeat. The five tons of ammo is more than enough to get you through a long game. Only ran out in one game last night. One of my lance ran the same load and we supported our DDC and facerolled many games last night.

I have this build with a std260 motor and ferro fibrous armor plus endo steel. So he can hold on the enemies fire longer. And I have 394 armor (legs 46/46 rest full).

Yea, I do typically run with less armor on the legs on my Catapaults. Personally, the AMS seems like a good thing to keep. If I'm supporting an Assault class, the AMS helps us both with incoming LRMs.

Archwright, I'm going to run this build as soon as I have my Catapaults mastered. I don't disagree with your assessment, but I don't see the need for an XL300 if I'm staying close to an Assault anyway.

Catapult are made for using XL engines due to how their side torsos are modeled, its the main reason its my fav mech.

Wonder if we can squeeze in twin LB's and a quad of medium pulselasers or even large pulse in some chassi...

    Where is the problem:

In the case of LPLas you would sacrifice alot of Speed or/and Ammo.
