QKD-4G Where the PPCs go is entirely up to personal preference, but they converge best in the side torso.
its worth noting you can do the same on the 4H, and have 3 streaks.... and it works out very well.. so props to ya hail... saw several 500+ dmg games on this build.
Seems a bit on the slow side to me. Speed is life. I would reduce the number of JJ and add Endo Steel if there is room and get a bigger engine.
The speed isn't too much of an issue with this mech. It's not the fastest, but it really doesn't need to be faster. I'll still try that, though. I don't use the JJ as much as I would expect so it's worth a shot.
Took your build and added Endosteel, 300XL engine, and a half-ton of armor with no other changes necessary. If you have a 300XL lying around I can't think of much reason not to use it! Will definitely try this when I pick up the -4G.
Don´t you run out of streak ammo with these builds? 100 missiles for 2-3 SSRM2s? Seems very little :/
Honestly, I forget I have them half of the time. Besides, I usually only use the SSRMs when the PPCs are useless. Basically on enemies below 100m or on lights.
I usually do 1 ton of ammo per 2 Streak launchers. Shoots 4 missiles per salvo, divided into 100 gets you 25 shots. Considering that you have to lock on and be within 270 for that to happen, (and you will want to be using your PPCs most of the time) you wont be using these as a "main weapon", mostly for backup against lights that get close and added damage to things that are close.
My Variant: Or if you'd rather have an XL300, this has pulse lasers: Though KalliD's XL300 variant is probably better as long as you mount the max amount of heat sinks. Very hot, and you should probably only use ppcs when poking from range, or when you can get it off assuredly without overheating yourself. The speed of the QKD gives it its power though, and thus shouldn't be gimped with a measly XL260.
