The ATMs can help firing at mechs at long range or bumping up the burst damage up close (+18 damage long range up to 30 damage optimal range). At close ranges you have the option to dumb fire if you do not think you can get a lock fast enough. The missiles do help in certain situations where the low arms or high torso mounts can't get on target. This build is ammo limited, but adding a plasma canon or lasers requires more cooling and tonnage that just isn't available. Adding missiles puts some stress on choosing skills. Consider not taking the velocity skills since the quirks provide 15% velocity.
