I apologize for the last reply - I haven't been on MWO in a while, but I don't chain fire at all. I use 3 weapon groups - one with all of the LB10's, one with the left lasers and one with the right lasers. You can even group all of the lasers together if you want - the heat isn't all that much.

I wasn't a fan of how hot it was running, so I shaved a half ton of ammo and some armor for two more heat sinks. Fun as hell, but still runs hot.

 

How can the OP say that this isnt hot? It practically melts in a brawl. Waiting for the shotguns to recycle takes ages. Still love it though lol...

My version of this utilizing the Ultraviolet stock omnipods, can also swap ERMLas for HMLases instead but I've liked them for punching a hole.

The build is definitely a blast, but I'm cooking myself on the regular with the erSmalls, WTH am I doing wrong? Using a W platform for this, might that have something to do with it?

 

I haven't tried the build itself, but 33% cooling efficiency is hot. Try maxing out cool run and heat gen nodes in the skill tree.

 

If you're lucky,then yes, this is a good build. If not, then you'll be having a bad time with this build

 

I've never been a huge fan of ERSL's. They're pretty hot and their long duration makes it hard for you to hold on one component of an evasive enemy mech. They are almost useless as a defensive weapon against fast nimble lights. How about... this:



Should be a lot more heat efficient. ERuL's have a very similar cycle time to the LB10X's, so you can shoot, twist like a madman to spread damage, then re-aquire a target every 2.25 seconds. And ERuL's in the arms are moderately effective at putting damage on fast nimble lights and shouldn't overheat you.

There are additional energy hardpoints, so there's the option to trade ammo, a heat sink, or the TC to get up to 4 more ERuL's.



Excalibaard is right though. Your similar adversary on the battlefield is going to be the 4xLB10X Cyclops, which is tanky and freakin' deadly; or the 4xLB10X + ML Fafnir, or the Annihilator which can run a variety of similar deadly DPS ballistics (5xLB10X, 6xAC5, or some combination of UAC's). I wouldn't want to be a quad LB10X Dire Wolf going toe to toe with any of those customers.

 

I have been successfully rocking a C-bill version of this 4xHML alt build. Only it has arm mounted lasers which is preferably for shooting down UAVs. The build works with any c-bill variant. And the JJ can be easily traded by swapping the -S LT for a -B...
