I like'em all. Leaning towards just the dual HAG20 version for simplicity, but the one with the ERLL thrown in too looks pretty solid. HAG50 looks nice too, but the slightly different cooldown will be annoying, and the longer burst of the HAG30 might make pop tarting more difficult. I think pop tarting with the shorter burst time HAG20's is easy enough.
Are you, or anyone else, really afraid of the HAGs (especially the poptarters)? After switching to IS energy builds, it seems like I am back in cover (even in assaults) before the pellets are halfway to me. And the poptart HAGs seem to spread damage out even with very minimal torso twisting, so HAGs seem pretty meh. Especially for the tonnage. I really haven't seen one brawl yet. Maybe they shine there... Now on targets that don't move and you have a full three seconds to charge and unload and charge and unload again, what a great weapon.
Agreed in a lot of ways. I think they can be very effective, but definitely have drawbacks. The charge time makes it hard to counter-fire against quick peakers, And the duration and spread limits them dramatically. However, in the right hands and with correct positioning and usage (use terrain to don't let yourself get peaked on, *you* do the peaking) they can be solid: and But back to the hunchie... this is also possible: https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechlab?b=f567c222_HBK-IIC (2xHAG30, 2xJJ, XL200) But I think the 2xHAG20 is probably better. You need that mobility.
