    Without AMS

    With AMS

    Aylek's XL340 variant:

My variant of the 'Archflame' got quite a few endorsements (including from Archwright himself), so I figured I'd give it his own thread. I keep coming back to this build, as it's really fun to use and it can deal some heavy damage/crits, especially when you have speedtweak unlocked.

I included the version that Aylek shared down below as well, because it's better in my opinion, but I don't have the c-bills for it.

    My control croups:
    1: 4 MLAS
    2: LBX
    3: SRM
6: Chained MLAS (press left on hot maps and left click for chained MLAS)

I purchased an XL325 just to run this config, and it was worth it.

As far as I'm concerned, the Archflame7 is the official version.

My version is pretty similar. It's faster and uses AMS, but runs not that cool as yours.

looks good, the LBX ammo is more in line with the amount of SRM salvos (25). I just don't have the XL340 so personally I'd drop down to 14 sinks and 30 ammo, to install AMS and half a ton of armor on the legs.

AMS is a worthy upgrade. The return of LRMs has meant that my Flame has had to spend more time under cover, and less time shooting backsides.

I bought that engine for my Flame when I got the mech for being the smallest engine that lets the mech travel more than 100kph including tweak. Later I found out that it's also the max engine on my beloved CTF 3D. :)

This. Also, AMS is the stronger the more people mount it, and offers nice support for the group at a mere 1,5 tons.

Wow! This build is a beast!

Replaced the Gauss/4 ML build which was fun too, but this "In your face!" build is much more suited to my playstyle. A mastered Flame is pretty nimble for a heavy and thus can bring on a lot of sustained damage when played well.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Awesome site btw!

    5/5,
As stated, this is my officially endorsed Flame build.

Great build. I use an xl320 with more ammo.
This thing gets a lot of kills.

Fun mech! I use nearly identical setups on my Flame & 1C.
My Flame gets an XL305 for more ammo & an SRM6 (since you're close anyhow).
    My 1C alternates a bunch between a couple fits (XL300, 4x MPL, LBX10 || XL325, 4x ML, AC10).

Both operate as close range brawlers that move (relatively) quickly and do QUITE well near the latter half of the game.

I started using the 1N and 5N as my everyday DRG, but after trying the Flame (and 1C retrofit) I've rarely used the 1N!

XL305 is highly suboptimal, mount the XL300 from your 1C (swap them out every once in a while) and get 1.5 more tons to spend.

    Well, pros and cons.
Without AMS you can go REALLY FAST, with fullish armor.

Your choice between the 3rd ton of ammo or another DHS for 41% Heat.

Updated with new tech, exchanging the SRM for a RL so a decently sized Light Engine fits :)

I've since updated my Flame to run an SRM2 with MPLs instead.
The SRM2 and LB10 sync up near perfectly.

    4/5,
    It's a good build I bet, but...
I like that one personally. :)
