The latest patch changed the lock time based on sensor range and distance, and the Cyclops has +150m bonus to sensor range. The 10-Q has a whopping 7 Missile slots! Using 3 LRM10s and 4 LRM5s you can chainfire continuously to apply cockpit shake to your target, or direct fire each group (seperately). If you are not sure how long the target lock will last then fire the 4 LRM5s followed by the 3 LRM10s with a small gap as firing together will incur a huge ghost heat penalty. The patch also gave us a bump to direct fire arc and decreaed lock time. So the aim is to follow the assaults just behind to stay out of the 180m minimum range, directly engaging with TAG when possible, and using chain fire to suppress the target, or just play artillery when the opportunity arrises. When buying skills, use the structure half of the armour tree to maximise the mech structure quirks to CT, LT, RT. If you feel it lacks ammo then lose the AMS, but with skills should be ok. My Weapon Groups: 1. 2 x Medium Laser 2. All LRMs (Chain Fire) 3. TAG 4. 4xLRM5 5. 3x LRM10 I use the mouse for 1,2,3. and keys to fire 4 & 5.
@Lorgot nice alt, less versatile without the lasers but more singular in its purpose, and you can argue 2 MLs are not match vs. Lights anyway.
