Well, i just got a Cache.. and.. unf***ingbelievable - i still had to pay, sorry, 25 MC (!?) for... pardon what? a Narc Pod? Hahahahahahahaha. Once and never again. lol Nice try copying TF2/Dota2 ! *Edit: Maybe should have watch this Clip first before implementing the same Idea.
"At a bare minimum the value any item in the crate must be worth at least as much as the key" Nuff said. PGI get a clue.
Are the players interested? .....Massive Negative Player Feedback... Interaction with players on the forum = Happy Players. Anyone know what the % probability that you get a good item. Is it equal for all items or heavily weighted?
The percentage had better be 1 in 8, as that's the number of items in the cache. I am only going to open the ones with mechs in them. Not surprised that it costs MC. Expected it. But at least you can see what's inside and be able to make an informed decision.
I think you all need to understand what the word gambling means.... do you think its outrageous when you lose in Vegas too? PS: Not that I have much interest in the caches just nice to receive them as FREE 50k or save/use option.
Aramuside makes a good point. Gambling stays gambling Though I think a lot of people don't see it as such for some reason. That's also why this is still allowed in a game which is essentially available for minors. It's because you don't get money out of it? You most certainly get goods worth money (or completely nothing) out of currency that's paid for though.
Not many people seem to think it's an equal chance for each item in the box. It would take either an insane amount of data collection or word from PGI to get a real answer though
If it's gambling, it's baby gambling. You first need to actually win a cache from a match. You then get to see what's inside, and you can decide whether or not to spend a pittance to have a chance at getting what you want. You might get goods worth money, but not really. You can't buy, sell or trade with other people in the game. Basically: You have to play a game of craps in order to have a 1 in 12 chance of getting a cache, which then you have a 1 in 8 chance to get what you want, and that assumes that the particular cache you have has what you want in it. Even if you get what you want, it's basically tokens jammed into your pocket with your name on it, that you can never take out of your pocket EXCEPT to sell them back to the house at half their credit value. It's not gambling if the house always wins.
Actually you get them as rewards now for completing stages in the weekly tournaments. They also give away keys. In the true luck of a non gambler first gave me three keys then a shitty SRM 4, a Clan ER PPC... and an Executioner A! Cost to myself 0. I can happily never use a cache again.
*shrug* It's a free 50k CBills at the very least on average every 12 wins. If there's something in there you want you can gamble the 25 MC on it and even if you don't get it pretty much everything in there is better value than any of the MC to CBill conversions available in the store. Don't get the rage, at all. Gamble if you want to, if not your average CBill earnings in a win have increased an average of 4k CBills.
I see it as extra cbills I get every few games. Maybe I will open a crate if there is a mech in it, but otherwise it is just a bit of extra cbills at no cost.
The way I see the caches is that it's 50k cbills or that 25mc I had left over doing nothing since it couldn't afford anything else
Has anyone actually won something worthwile - something like a Mech Variant or Mechbay or Module? Some Statistics would be nice. But I guess no one here is willing to pay that much of money.
I have won a mechbay. Nothing else of worth, 500000 c-bills was second best win. Only opened 4 caches so far though.
