This sounds like a pretty fun build. I'm glad you did away with the XL but still kept an engine larger than stock. Keeps it moving a bit faster than other assault 'mechs. I'm already running an 8R with dual LLasers and dual LRM15+Artemis, so I favor the LLasers in this build. The SSRMs sound like they'd be hell to deal with in close combat.

Doesn't have any heat issues, does it?

LOL, All mechs have heat issues. But its not to bad on heat chain fire the large lasers and group the streaks on a second group

You might want to re-distribute some armor from back to front, no?

I'd argue for what I presume he is doing that armor distribution is stellar. Nice build personally wouldn't use SSRM2 but push more dps into it if possible, but overall good build

This build is a fantastic concept. 3LL, 3 streaks, AMS and a STD engine. Full stars!

Why dont you go Endo if you can?? Would free 4tons e.g. for larger Engine or larger Weapons like PPCs

putting endo would fill up all his slots. unless you just got a bigger engine.

SSRMs on assaults are not really my style. Even more so now after the change. And with a 47% heat efficiency you could afford to lose a DHS or 2 but no more. Although thats entirely preference.

BUT if you want to keep SSRMs you will for sure need BAP. You dont wanna carry weapons that have the potential to be useless if you can help it. DHS for the BAP and bam, locking problems solved.

There is already no slot free anymore in the original build. Endo would free 4 tons which can be used for a larger Engine or bigger Gunz like LPLs or PPCs.

You can always replace AMS by BAP if you want. Or you can go fo SRM2 due to limited Tube.Size.

you're not gettin me man. 4 tons or 50 tons it doesnt matter. If he puts in endo he literally has no more slots to upgrade anything unless its a bigger engine. Is spending a couple million c-bills worth like 4 kmh?

Also AMS is way important. His heating efficiency is through the roof and can afford to lose 2 DHS. Also with the loss of 2 DHS he will have more slots open to actually utilize that extra 4 tons gained from endo.

And since the heat scaling increase to more than 2 LL he cant really alpha them that much. Probably uses chainfire to manage the heat and as such he doesnt need 47% heat efficiency.

Yeah drop 1 DHS may be an option to use the free tons from Endo. But for what? Maybe upgrading to SRM4s which lead to two Alpha.Volleys but suboptimal. I would rather have replaced two of the LLs with either LPLs or PPCs without dropping a DHS.

Picture is worth a thousand words:

This is how i personally would modify it without using endo. more armor, SRM upgrade, and only a 1% loss in heat efficiency.

This is how i would do it with endo.

and keeping in the spirits of SSRMs it now has BAP and still a respectable heat efficiency.

note: i messed up the link to the first one and am too lazy to fix it but you can still see it.
