May the god of Component Destructions bless this build and bestow upon thee wondrous "Kill Assist Most Damage" bonuses. It runs a bit hot when poking with the MLas, but this mid-range build can cool down quickly enough. As with all of the IIC mechs, stay in cover to protect your massive hitboxes and cool down.
This is how I run mine. Quite to my amazement, the quad UAC/2 performs quite nicely. With decent timing you can suppress a target without jamming those guns, and once you really want to put the damage out, you just mash the buttons and rip sections of. Very lovely. This baby can hold an entire lance of new players from entering the volcano on Caustic
Definitely one of the best builds for this variant. I was doing this: but this was fine also, faster but w/o JJ. Not sure if the TC1 is worth it. I mean you would want to retain the heat for your AC2 and use the ERML mostly in sure-kills and jammed downtime.
Tried this last night: Great for ridge poking, surprising damage output. The cERML help with some extra poke at mid-range, but I found the cooling a bit rough. So, I went cERSL and it was beautiful. 500-900 damage over the 5 rounds I played in this build before swapping to the beautiful IIC-B. Very solid build for a ranged DPS. Easy to track, great cooling (without lasers thrown in) and still decent in a light rush with it's speed and ability to constantly harass and damage. The damage against lights may not be as effective as laser vomit builds, but the constant AC hits and shake frighten most pilots into panic and flee mode. OP's build is great for ranged focus and has better ammo, but I prefer a little speed. Still a SOLID 4-star build. Cheer.
4/5, A bit slower than I prefer, but a GREAT ranged DPS and harasser. The 16 point double-tap for a quick ridge peek makes most enemies hesitate at the least. When engaging enemies that are already focused, this build throws out damage 'til the cows come home!
My only issue with the OP's build is that there's no reason NOT to be using Ferro. After applying it, you still have 6 free slots and 1.5 tons to throw around. That's enough for a single jump jet and another ton of ammo, or AMS, or whatever filler you like. Even if you are willing to live with the speed and aren't willing to sacrifice any of that precious, precious ammo (like me), the ability to add in significant maneuvering for right at half a million C-Bills isn't even a real choice, especially not when comparing using the stock engine vs buying a new Clan XL just for this thing. May still do that later, but for leveling up at the start:
It's an entirely different playstyle. Instead of a doubletap 30 point, you have a 16 points which necessitates a lot more facetime to get the same damage in. However, that sustained damage is sickening
I like both builds because most people back off when they are getting a barrage of lead in there face .I have used ac 2s and ultra ac2s and with the fire control macro its quite a damage dealer
Great fun, a bit slow with my cXL200, but next thing I got up is 275 and that's too heavy. So, I use 3 JJ's to give it a bit more mobility in the jumping department. A couple big patches ago they made IS AC2's crit like Machine Gun's right? Does that apply to cUAC2's as well? EDIT: I now figure that the cLB2X's take the crit role, so I'm assuming the cUAC2's don't naturally have crit chance.
