Can't be worst than their current tool for sale of new mechs, which somehow is always moar powercreep. Buying a new mech because it's different is a legit reason ; because it's the way to keep up with the arm race, not so much.

Not necessarily. I'm personally very happy some weapons are only effective on selected mechs. The more they add mechs the more specialisation is needed (Black Knight and Grasshopper, what's the difference? what's the point if you can do the same loadout on all mechs?), and actually I wish it was the case on other weapons too: base weapon is mostly crap, and mech-specific buffs would make it "viable".

Maybe, but then how many more mechs are we going to see MG 20% ROF quirks on?

The thing is, since Macro is legal you do not need MG ROF buff, you can already do better with macro. Flamer range is at least something new.

Won't happen with the macro pulsing people are using on flamers... their only disadvantage is the range.
