With the 50% CBill boost to my Bounty Hunter and the help of the sale, I was able to rake in enough cash to buy 3 of these monsters, even with my buggy computer dropping me to the desktop every three matches....... Of course now I'm Broke! But Ohhh! Look at how Shiny
I like the jaguar paint job! I bought a trio of Battlemasters in the sale, but I"m a bit salty with the fact they are going to change all the energy range quirks to no more than 10%... and the reason I bought the -1S is for the energy range +25% quirk...
F*** it, those sales come too fast, aint got many CBills and all Mechbays are full :/ But Crabs, Urbies, GRH 5P & ZEU 5S are calling^^
The variants with more than 1 M Hardpoint are nice brawlers, but yeah, the chassis overall isn't really mighty.
Its why I don't see the point of buying a lot of the IS mechs now - it will hurt a lot of mechs: Locusts Ravens Commando Spider Urbanmech Panther Cicada Blackjack Vindicator Enforcer Hunchback Trebuchet Griffin Kintaro Wolverine Dragon Quickdraw Catapult Thunderbolt Grasshopper Warhammer Black Knight Awesome Zeus Battlemaster Stalker Highlander Atlas Like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut and their comment that they'd prefer to adjust the weapons themselves was odd. I mean who actually thinks the commando 1D needs a heavy nerf?
I think they do it to boost sales of some mech, then change the quirk back somewhat to rebalance it... They can prefer to adjust it all they like, but we will surely still min/max the fuck out of it since now that the quirks are down we know what to dump and there are a few mechs that are once again worth min/maxing. And whatever they are thinking there is NOT A FUCKING THING they can do to stop people from min/maxing one way or another, and such is how the game will be played, just like any game. Just make sure they don't try to go for that so-called information warfare piece of shit. That is utter crap. Fuck that.
The idea that sensor information, deprivation, and the like is a balancing point in the game. So far this is one of the things PGI has failed fairly spectacularly at even when they've tried, which makes how hard they pushing it all the more painful. The things that makes it worse is modules already existing in game (sensor range, info gathering, radar deprivation). Because these things already exist, tweaking individual mechs by quirks and trying to get certain chassis better at it than others is going to be a huge hassle...especially since they've just proven that the road they had chosen to take of letting certain sensor focused mechs not be utterly defenseless is something they don't plan on sticking to. Nerfing certain energy ranges? Yes, please, they went too far on some mechs. Nerfing ALL energy ranges and capping the limit? Fail on IGP levels.
Hmmmm Wolverine, or Zues? I have the loyalty of both, and I need two more of one of those chassis' as I'm somewhat of a completionist and don't like having mechs in my garage that are not able to be mastered. I only have enough MC for 2 mech bays.
I like them both but the Wolvies rise and fall with the quirks. The 6K was long OP and is now still a nice LL Boat, but will get another nerf soon (Energy Range). 6R is a little Dragon 1N (Turbo Dual AC5) but also got a nerf. Still good but not very good any more. 7K is an all time great SRM boat, but I like others more (GRF2N). ZEUS are very average, if you like the hardpoints and you like assaults, they are your choice. (9S one sided laser boat, 6S one sided Laser Balistic, 5S Missiles, Laser and Balistic, 6T Missiles and Lasers)
Zues it is! Higher amount of C-bills discounted off the price, the wolvie being cheaper, so it's easier to buy not on sale. And the -7K comes with an XL275... Soooo I'm gonna have to take a bit to build up the will power to pay extra C-Bills for that crap engine (XL280 weighing the exact same...).... The Wolverine definitely seems good, but I feel the variants are kind of locked in to certain builds, and the Zues might offer a bit more variety in viable loadouts per variant.
I did not know that! thanks for the tip. Don't go out of your way or anything, but do you know which ones off the top of your head?
