Only 2's and 5's where rotary. I wonder how they are going to implement them.

Rotary ac 5 was able to shoot 6 times faster then ac5 if it didn't jam.

So are rotary ACs just improved versions of Ultra ACs?

Nope they're the god of autocannons and property of House Davion ... fuck the rest.....

Basically you set a speed from 1-8 and it fires that many shots .... with commensurate heat and a jamming chance. From memory not all are even guaranteed to hit but ..... 8 x AC5.... drool.....

Other people get access to them... eventually. Hell, even the Clans are experimenting with them...

I wonder how MMLs and ATMs will turn out, if PGI can finally figure out how to code mixed ammo types.
Or the Plasma Rifle/ Cannon. Fuck. See a 'Mech shut down, keep shooting him with the Plasma Rifle/ Cannon. They'd explode themselves. Or, like the flamer, it'd be incredibly useless.

Well, they just need to allow change of ammo at the weapon group tab.

    MRM are good also.
Thunderbolt missiles too. Boom and 20 damage.
    ATM is what yomama do...

The IS really needs Inferno SRMs. Just imagine the glory of a light inferno boat running around ad shutting down the hot running clanners :D

Too high of a chance they'd just end up like Flamers...they'd need to implement a residual heat to do it right. IE, the Infernos hit, and cause heat to rise in the mech for X seconds per missile hit, otherwise they'd end up being nearly worthless. In TT, infernos were dangerous because the flame would cling to the mech, roasting the pilot inside alive, if they ever appear in MWO they should be the same way.

They need to allow ingerno and flamers to ACTUALLY OVERHEAT ENEMY MECHS.
That way it is actually dangerous.

Obviously there is no pilot to worry about in mwo and that is not likely to change, but allowing heat weapons to bring heat up beyond 100% is a good thing, that way you can cause heat damage.

The only time I'll accept that mechanic is if I can bring 2 additional coolant flushes,... image the terror of Heat Erupting Light Lances!

Well, it is actually not as bad as one might imagine. You allow the heat transfer to bring it up to just above 100% max so they will be taking damage.

But remember the damge is minimal if you are just a bit over, and currently you can overdrive so if you go full flamer there is still a huge risk of getting ripped by the cooler AC, as it takes time to cook up a mech.

I imagine the heating gradiant would get steeper once the mech get hot. So getting the mech to, say, 60% heat would be a piece of cake, getting it from 80% to 90% would take a longer time.

Reads a little more workable. But still, none of my wub builds could ever retaliate a pack of such mechs short of suiciding,...

Alex has update the IIC FAQ a couple of days ago.

TL;DR IIC mechs are pure clan battlemechs (inc Clan XL), no IS tech at all.

    * Are the stock Upgrades customizable? Can we change the Armor, Internal Structure, or Heat Sink type?
    This makes me wonder.
*All IIC models come with DHS, ONLY A FUCKING IDIOT WILL CHANGE HEAT SINK TYPE TO SHS.
*here is no Clan tech SHS, clanners may not be too bright, but they surely would not use shit tech like SHS.

So, what do you change the Heat Sink Type to?

    Triple heat sinks, obviously.

It...it looks like they're going to make cSHS a thing. If you can swap it, it will be to single. And you always have to able to put in heat sinks. So...either you won't be able to swap heatsinks on IIC, or cSHS is gonna be a thing that exists. FOR GREAT DERP!

I mean...MAYBE there's an assault build that could pull it off with the extra tonnage and space? Theoretically? Hell, I almost want to try now, just for shiggles.

Well according to Russ on Twitter a Battle Value system is coming in for each chassis so these might end up with ridiculously high values for all we know. It won't be incorporated into the match maker so I wonder if it will just effect tournaments and competitions.

Probably be used in Deck building.
So instead of 240 tonnage we get to build with x BV.

But it seems that they are making BV per chassis, not something that changes with the builds like in BT originally.

If that is correct, there is still no point for cSHS.
