6x SSRM6 is not bad really. The nova may not be effective, but not yet cringe worthy I would say. The panther as requested. Probably trying to put new spin to the old Gauss Raven. Gauss Raven is still superior though, due to more crit slot to take FF, so more ammo.
Ummh I have a LB10X PNT-10P... its a weird chassis so might as well have fun with it. Problem is its a light mech with ballistic specs so you have terrible ammo problems. I run out in ever match unless I die early.
The build you mention have 45 shots, which is decent for what that is, as a ranged or poptart running through 25-30 shots is easy though.
XL195 will do the trick. Saves 1.5 tons in comparison to the 200 so this means another 7 shots of gauss ammo (1 extra SHS needed).
Loose 1 DHS & FF, switch engines, add 1 SHS, loose another 6 points of armor, add 0.5t Gauss ammo. Or simply loose 1 JJ in favor of those 7 bullets..
Now you are thinking Mechspecs! HOWEVER, Gauss ammo comes in 10 per ton, you cannot have 7 Gauss ammo equipped. You get 5 extra ammo instead. Also, you drop a JJ not a DHS. Oh, the old Gauss Raven is still leading.
21 points you mean? This is a lot of sacrifice for just 5 extra rounds,... (and a mech I will never drive )
If you want to mount the biggest ballistic weapon available on a light mech you can't have it all. The Raven obv. wins here because of the missing lower arm actuators, thus enabling the use of FF armor.
It is ok to have it all, just not with Panther. Even this That said, it is fun, but not as effective as one might think, better just use PPC. Oh, the raven have higher weapon mount also.
I have an Enforcer with 2 AC2 and 4 SPL which quite often gets me 4 kills as I'm levelling it so don't diss the AC2's!
though in fairness its hard to see why you'd prefer it to dual ER PPC on the Nova unless you hate poptarting. At which point you've discarded one of the the best strengths of the chassis.
