I have been looking in this forum, and this will be my first post, so any feedback will be welcomed on my build :)

This build was built because of a few requirements I found was lacking compared the "The Perfectionist" build for example.

    1) I just couldn't stand the short range of Small Pulse Lasers(185m) or Small Lasers(225m).
    2) I've decided that cERML was out because of it's long burn duration and bad heat efficiency despite being weight efficient. The cMPL is currently super effective in terms of heat/burn duration and thus I've decided to choose it. Probably my favourite laser in Clan Tech right now.
3)My armor should not be too low.
    4) SRM6s requires Artemis and with decent amount of ammo required

    With SRM6 Range module + TC1 = 297m SRM6s
    With MPL Range module + TC1 = 370m MPL(effective up to 740m)
Last recommended module is Seismic level 2.

    Recommended all-rounder build

Without jumpjets, using TBR-D torso. Has 5tons of ammo for maximum spammage

Without jumpjets, even more heat efficient by dropping 1ton ammo

    PROS:-
1)Extremely heat-efficient @ 38% for default build. goes up to 41%(!) with the 3rd build.
    2)Very good burst damage @ 68.
3)Has very good range for a brawler

    CONS:-
    1) Will lose extremely long range battles (<600m). The MPLs reach up to 740, but the damage will lose to a dedicated sniper of course. Your just helping out to strip some armor off before the brawl happens, don't do unfavorable trades.
    2) TBR Ears are easy to break when using missile builds.

Please do try it out and feedback to me what do you guys think of my build. I've forgotten to take some screenshots when I was playing this, will come back and link some. Regardless, with this build, you can expect to do a minimum of 200damage on a loss, and 400damage on a win. At least thats my current criteria. Oh getting kills? Pretty much guaranteed.

Dropped with 2 other unit mates, did pretty well with this beast.

Credits: creeam from 5SSP who came up with the original build & idea, whom I took it from and modified!

Hey and welcome to MechSpecs! :)

Good build and a fine writeup, there's nothing much to improve on in the build as it fits the purpose you have designed for. Timbers are tanky and can certainly take the damage in close ranges.

I have similar setups but generally carry one long range weapon, like a PPC, though that is my preference and not a suggestion for this build.

Hey Lan thanks for the welcome. Yeah I understand where your coming from, pretty much why this build was created too.

Range is important IMO, the other 2 brawler builds are too short ranged for my liking(perfectionist builds) As for long range weaponry, most battles in MWO happens around 300-600m away. MPLs are good enough for that range. Besides i want to get in closer to use my SRMs anyway!

Having that slightly more range IMO makes the timberwolf even more effective, as you get to do your damage from behind the first line, while still moving forward to start using the SRMs.

I really hope you guys will rate my build and test it out, post some testimonials guys! ;) appreciate it all. Please do try it out! You will be surprised at it's effectiveness at the ranges MWO is played at.

I've gone through the TBR builds. Nothing to change guys. All the lasers are utilized, so you only suffer a 12% post-nerf quirks. 0.85sec x 1.12 = 0.95sec burn duration. Not a big deal. The 12% Cooldown does hurts a bit, but you can always swap out the range module for cooldown module and nullify the nerf.

Overall this build effectiveness did drop, but it still serves its purpose as a med range brawler.

Hey, I'm still a relative newbie so forgive my ignorance but how are you getting more than 1 SRM on each side? each time I go to a fresh build I can only place 1 on each, but I regularly view builds with more than 1 each.

Ah yeah, now I see. You change the whole section and it allows different bits. Teach me to try and learn a bit on IS mechs and then change sides.

I think you might need more armor though.

Anyhow, if you use S pod CT it would be better. You can get only 1x JJ and still do everything you need.

I would prefer to invest that extra ton on armor though.

Your right about S-pod CT. I do own a TBR-S, but I decided to make this build as a farming build, Prime(I) has 30% cbills. 30% cbills vs 1ton saved on jumpjets? What can i say, im greedy :p

About armor, i dont get it. I have 422 armor for all 3 builds, you have 422 armor in your build too? I think it's just the difference in how the armor was distributed. I always max head armor. Good players with gauss have an incredibly easy time hitting a TBR cockpit because of where it's located.

    Thinking about this:

    Or this:

No 5% quirk but better dps for SRM.

So I just came back to this game 2 days ago after having not played since June 2013. It's been awhile. But I was looking at Timberwolves because they look awesome, and your build is exactly what I'd like to try. But then...the not being here for 2 years caught up to me because I have no fucking idea what omnipods are. Or how to get clan engines. What is going on?!?!?! I just want to blow people up with style. :(

EDIT: So I kind of figured out that you get into omnimechs by buying a prime mech and then omnipods. I think I've got it figured out. Anyways, I really like your build and that's what I'm aiming for once I have the bills to outfit it.
