X Post time! http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/197475-may-11th-24-hours-of-charity-mechs/ Where: twitch.tv/watcherrat When: May 11th, starting at approx. 10pm (2200) EST How long? 24 hours. What: A marathon run of mechs, mechs, and more mechs, I will be in the Enn Gee ( ) Teamspeak hosting both sync drops and group queue play for those interested. Why: All of this will be to benefit the Extra Life charity, which benefits children's hospitals around the country. The details of this can be found here: http://www.extra-life.org - You can also donate to my personal collection page at this link: http://www.extra-lif...cipantID=145351 This is also my personal celebration for both being on vacation from work, and reaching 50 followers on Twitch. Not much, but hey, I'm a new streamer! AND WHY SHOULD I TUNE IN AFTER DONATING!? Well, simple! In addition to collecting donations, I will also be giving some away. I have several Premium time codes (and I'm hoping to gather some more codes by the 11th), and I will also be doing drawings to let people select a mech from the gift shop from the new Reinforcement Wave II selections. Trying to wrangle up some mech bay codes too, but no promises So tune in, donate if you can, and help out some kids. See you there, and feel free to post any questions below.
Just giving this one a bump for noticing, we are 24 hours away from our start time on the stream! I have a number of gift codes lined up for people to receive during giveaways, and I may pick up some more when the stream starts. Hope to see a nice, large crowd interested in winning things and helping kids at the same time
Let me know via a PM when you go live and I'll retweet it as near to your start time as I can to up your exposure a little bit. I never mind helping charity events.
Also post the link on reddit when you start the stream, might get the attention of people not following twitter or forums.
You've never seen his stream before!? for shaaaame. JK, yeah most don't Well done so far man! Congratulations on reaching your $500 goal! not yet I guess, thought it was glitched or something and someone said you made it.
Well I watch his video's not much into twitch as I live in the country so twitch is usually awful with my connection. Its stable so great for FPS but streaming/twitching is a non starter for me a lot of the time.
Arrgh how do you get it to just list a name other than your real one - does it ask you after the payment stage? I presume Chris is Durandal?
yes that is him, you don't have to put your real name on that page. At least I didn't when I used Paypal. I just put Solahma UMAD
I wanted to leave a MASSIVE thanks to everyone who attended the stream, joined me on Teamspeak, and most importantly, who donated to the cause. I was worried that there wouldn't be much turnout today, or that we wouldn't take many donations, but we not only met but exceeded our goal. I may not be able to do a 24 hour stream again for a while, but I'm hoping to do some 12 hour events when possible to keep the Extra Life drive alive. Some huge shout outs, however: Cannibaal_Eredar (Cannibaal in-game) was a fucking rockstar during the stream, donating both $50 to me personally and to Extra Life as well, but then donating a 7-day premium code and FIVE mech codes (a LCT-3V, GRF-2N, SCR-B, TBR-A, and GAR-B) that we gave out to people during the day as they followed along. This really helped us get some interest going in the stream, and was far more than I expected. Thank you once again for your help. Sean Lang (Phil) and Impy both did a big favor by hosting my stream, directing people there, and even cutting Teamspeak Tuesday a bit short (in Impy's case) to help get people involved in the event today. It was very touching, not to mention awesome, to get the nod of approval there. You guys rock. Paul Inouye also showed up near the end of the stream while he could, and helped keep the chat room entertained while I was seriously struggling to keep the energy going. Paul and Russ both also repeatedly retweeted the event and put out information about the stream, helping me get a lot of people to come and help the cause. Thank you both for the assistance, was glad you could drop by! I also wanted to thank both Escef and Orcryst01, who not only hosted and hung out in my stream multiple times, but helped me advertise it a bit during THEIR streams leading up to the event. Glad you guys could find some time to tag along with me. @Michael thank you for helping spread the word with the Mechspecs twitter as well. And finally, again, to all of you who were there during the stream, you all made a great day even better. See you in-game, and THANK YOU! Durandal/Watcher/Chris
Just wanted to say well done - I watched you slowly look more and more knackered as time wore on and went to bed three hours from the end.... yes I slept while you struggled on. On the good side I did watch you for most of the evening! PS: We need to update your 1N fit and playstyle. *ducks*
Eh, by the time I was in the 1N, I was already on autopilot more or less...and I don't use it often, so meh You missed my Great Fails early in the stream, where I failed to get a kill not once, not twice, but THREE times with a Direstar But I had an AMAZING Mist Lynx match close to the end though. I wanted to highlight it, but sadly, Twitch muted it thanks to the music playing from Pandora Still...I basically carried a match in my MLX, bringing it to a tie, and nearly a win (I needed 30-40 more seconds to finish that Warhawk
I remember launching the stream, seeing you on Tourmaline in your raven, positioning yourself to snipe at mid-long range... and SRMs coming out You dropped in the Huginn, not the -3L.
No I saw that you had to take down the afk hellbringer as its ECM was screwing you over. He retreated to the old base. Sadly I seem to remember you had 1 kill and 700 damage! The 1N is just a style choice. I go 2 ML for close range additional firepower and something like 12 tons of ammo. I mostly force people to back off - almost entirely relying on bouncing dual AC5's off their CT and feeling for their heads (presuming front side or I just burn off arms/rear armour). Even if you can bounce 1 double round off their heads or close people panic. Either way by then you've landed a lot of damage on them and they're 95% of the time in full avoidance mode mentally. The ML's are just used if I have plenty of heat capacity and want to blip damage up or if I come round a corner, have a "oh *uck" moment and have to push into cover meaning I unleash everything in desperation. I will admit I've finished off a lot of mechs in CW with those two ML though. You play very differently and snap fire with your 3 weapons, avoid return fire and, if unable, twist to spread the damage. For me personally its always been the mech above all others where I burn down a target faster than it can burn me down. Like I said its a style thing but my 1N is almost entirely a CW beast rather than being used in the solo queue. I try to isolate targets whereas your approach is better against a mass of targets. That said strangely you often engage closer than me or reveal more torso despite having that ERLL. My only slight comment tactically is that when you lost your right arm on the crater map you carried on pushing that side to fire the ERLL in your left shoulder. Wondering if it was just tiredness as you could have just moved slightly to the left side of the crater edge instead of the right and fired almost entirely from cover. Instead you were revealing your entire RT/CT and part of the LT to fire despite having a XL engine. I admit I was mentally screaming at you ... NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
