MBO Tournament win against Clan Jade Falcon when I never stopped moving or firing - they tried to focus me down next match and almost did it within the first 90 seconds so I ran off like a girlie then used cover to get 4 kills:
You and @PyckenZot joined Dudesclub now, @Remarius? Cool! Is Z6 no more then, or you guys just moved on to greener pastures?
@Falconium Well its something we've been agonizing over as a unit for a while as a lot of people have gone inactive over the last two years and Z6 just couldn't put together enough to do a 12 man themselves anymore. We'd been looking for a home as a unit since the start of CW as until then we could just coast as a group of friends. We actually looked at a lot of units but the TZ was a major impediment as most units are NA based primarily. A few of us have been dropping with Dudes for a while on a casual basis as they were really welcoming, knew their stuff and played the same TZ. It feels odd to have too many people for everyone to have to compete for a slot in a company...... The German language is hard for some of us but most in the unit speak German. I rely on my experience a lot like in that battle where the drop caller doesn't speak English so we have to have a secondary caller to echo comments. The other callers speak English so its not an issue there. Most of the active Z6 players have transferred but not all others are still making up their minds. Its a brave new world.
Lol have to admit it felt odd as the only non German speaker in the team selected for the tourney last night but it allowed me to play around people and pay a lot of attention to how people play rather than what is said. Not always good but I'm used to playing skirmishers so the role is one I'm used to. It also rammed home the truism that in MWO if you control range you win. Though having @Aylek surrender the 1N slot to me saying I was "an artist with AC5's" caused a minor panic... No pressure after that billing!?!?!?! *Gulp*
It was fun to drop with the dudes this weekend although my german is a bit nonexisting, I was a member of z6 and is now mainly dropping with Swec.
@Falconium In essence @Remarius described the move perfectly. You have to understand that nearly all remaining Z-6 members know each other from back in the day where we still were the EU regiment of HHoD. Z-6 had sadly become a bunch of decent pilots that did no longer have the critical mass to organise anything more than a casual 3-4 man. As such we were starting to feel even more attrition from pilots falling outside of our '"prime-time". Besides the attrition, many of us really wanted to play in a more relevant way (12-mans, CW) so combined with the wish to keep the friends together we searched for a unit to incorporate us as a whole. In the end, the Dudes won ;-) It felt really nice to play in a fully coordinated group again. (and to prove once again I completely suck at assaults (had to fall in for a missing Dude )) Thanks @Aylek !
Hehe, glad to hear you guys found a home. Gotta say though, if you ever tire of hearing calls in German, please feel free to hop over to UMAD for some drops! As Vergere said, most of the guys are actually EU TZ as well, and many of them do speak Germa; but the calls in UMAD are always made in English. I do wish you good luck in Dudes though; @Aylek you lucky guy, stealing all the talent for your show!
HOLY SHIT!!!! I just had two coworkers rush to my office to see what I was laughing so hard at!!! I had to explain the whole game, units, names, tags, ect. OH MY GOD! The good news is, we just got another 4 guys who want to start playing MWO.
TBH its always nice to bring new people in. I've been pushing MWO among Eve Online players I know and slowly picking up people to try the game or retry it. Currently working on a German in corp.
